Telus to offer BlackBerry Torch 9800 September 24th too

General

Following this mornings announcement by Rogers, Telus has announced that they too will be carrying the BlackBerry Torch 9800 on September 24th. Telus’ VP of Mobility and Solutions, Brent Jonston, had this to say: “Both business and consumer customers will get an incredible mobile experience from the new BlackBerry Torch smartphone. Telus is pleased to bring the BlackBerry Torch to Canadians, which will allow them to easily stay connected, entertained and informed wherever they are while running on our blazing fast 3G+ network.” No pricing was given in the press release, but $199 on a 3-year contract is a pretty safe bet.

    That’s one sexy tire

I can reiterate this enough, but without DROID OS 7.21 all phones are a complete fail. Especially the torch, which is on At$t whose map just doesn’t come close to VZWs huge throbbing map!

I’m still on 2.2. How did you get 7.2 already?? Damn this blasted fragmentation!

  • PandaBarr

Anyone else find the humor behind the Torch being leaned up against a Ferrari wheel?

  • phone capo

why is this phone next to a Ferrari?

    • WalterSobchak

Probably because people that own ferraris actually do business unlike us iphone and android users that troll tech sites all day long.
Or it could be Paris Hilton…..

Ferrari’s are awesome and whose ferrari is it

“Incredible mobile experience” not with a BB.
    @ Andrew
are you the only one writing for BG? I couldn’t help but notice that you do 99% of the stories lately.

    • Andrew Munchbach

It’s me and BG at the moment… we’ll be getting more/new writers shortly so you won’t have to deal with me all day long ;-)

  • Will

The Ferrari is BG’s. His twitter has a bunch of pics of his new apartment and new Ferrari… He was just bought out.

  • Paul

I find it rather humorous that the Ferrari has such a huge amount of weights stuck on that rim. Either they warp too easily or a due to a lack of quality control. Oh and a 3 year contract is appalling.

Who gives a shit. BB is for tech morons.

  • Mr. Bill

Does that torch, come with fuel?

How long before the Torch sees EOL?

  • Maximus Droid

Wow, that doesnt make the torch ANY more exciting or appealing. Nice try though.

  • The Truth

C’mon Boy Genius, haven’t you watched a single episode of Top Gear? You know you shouldn’t have gotten a Ferrari….

    • Judge Smails

You speak The Truth! Recall how they tried to bluetooth with a Ferrari. Hilarious.

      Aston V12 Vantage carbon, baby.

    • Tdot34

Should have been an Aston Martin, its the only car to go from the super cool board, to the Sub-Zero safe!

  • ohmy

actually, if u watched TG you would know that they LOVE the 458 italia. they tested it against a 430 and yea obviously, the 430 got raped in every sense of the word. Great clip, the production and seeing the car in motion, finally opened my eyes to the beauty of the 458, its ahead of its time design wise.

Telus Cell Phones have never let me down before. Will never switch.

I spoke to a Rogers representative today and he said I would not be entitled to an upgrade to the new Blackberry Torch (at $199) from my current Bold 2; but I could get a new iPhone 4 for $159!

No wonder all the corporate users are dropping blackberry.

Looks like the pressure is on to move to an iPhone!
