Got the wife an Epic 4G today. Awesomeness!

Sprint also had some Evo’s in stock!

I asked about 4G in Orange County, CA, and Sprint said “November 2010″.

Can anyone else confirm that date?

No CLEAR/Sprint 4G service South of the Spectrum is expected for a long time (due to the expense created by hills). As for the rest, once CLEAR begins to market its $25/mo-ish alternative DSL/Cable service in the area, it will be all over (speed for 4G will plummet to under 3Mbps), as has happened in most other metropolitan areas…it’s why they’re reportedly looking at LTE now…though the cell phone sales people will continue to tell “folk lore” about how they once observed astonishingly fast download speeds (just after launch) for many years to come.

Got Epic at 10:30 am @ best buy in skokiel, IL. 12:30 pm GPS issues, called sprint & they have no clue. Took it to the sprint store & they have no clue. 2:30 pm phone returned to Best Buy. This phone is worst than step mother.

if gps you mean by not being accurate, out of box cell tower assisted gps is off. you have to turn it on and it’ll work as normal

Well coming from iphone 3g. I got the epic, but not sure if I like this android phone I mean its cool but the apps kinda suck.I’m loving swipe that’s how I’m writing now. The phone is fast. Gps I think its slow. Screen is very nice. I hate the back button not because it don’t work but I always have to use it for everything. apps included. qik was pretty cool

    South Korea thanks you, sincerely.

Meanwhile, the people in California coding their hearts out to save our country with the last remaining high-quality profession outside of Hollywood all collectively pause, sigh and mutter something under their breath about stupid people not knowing what they are.

Well, to answer the actual question BGR asked, ” …let us know what you think of the device, and how the buying experience was,” mine was quick, straight to the point and was in and out in less than 20 minutes. Glad to see, like some other comments mentioned, about the fact that there are docks and a few more accessories available for this device as opposed to what was available for the EVO. So far, I have been incredibly impressed. The screen is amazingly colorful and vibrant. My Sprint store also had a few EVOs. How quaint. I was hoping to get one of those until a few weeks ago when they finally announced the debut of the Epic’s drop date. So far, it’s been a great device. I’m enjoying the heck out of it.

I got one reserved but don’t get paid til tomorrow. Can’t wait to pick it up.

I went to switch from Verizon to Sprint for this phone…but rude sales staff drove me away…..called to order online and they were worse! Stay away from Sprint folks…was told that an Epic equivalent Galaxy S phone will be on other networks soon.

  • sunnyinca

Bought it at 9am this morning and returned it at 7pm. 4G signal only when outdoors…..only 3g indoors. Seems to be a long connection outage whenever switching from 4g-3g or vice versa. Dropped calls 3 times driving up and down 75. Hardware is nice but Sprint network…atleast in DFW is as bad as ever.

Got my device yesterday at 2pm and it’s awesome! spent all night messing with it. I miss HTC sense I had on the EVO, though… BUT love the fact that I have a keyboard.

Only issue I’m having so far is that I’m losing service very easily and I lose wifi connection if I’m in the other room. I don’t know if it’s the same issue the Evo had at 1st or if it’s something else…anyone out there fill my low bar pain? I’m in long island, NY (Nassau County)

Purchase went very well, except the long wait time. Highly recommend this phone!

Got my phone 8/31 at 6pm. Lost all of my apps by 11pm. Had to hard reset. Lost apps again.
9/2 was better. Didn’t lost apps until 5:15pm.

The phone is going back. I want to like it but I don’t have time to keep putting apps back on the screens twice a day.

There’s no reason to return this phone unless its faulty I’m very pleased with it. I can’t wait till we get froyo update.its going be hyper fast. I’m loving it so far. 4g is nice too.
