Wirefly selling HTC EVO 4G tomorrow via Facebook

General

These days, trying to score an HTC EVO 4G is like trying to photograph a giant squid; you know that both exist, and it should technically be possible, but they are nearly impossible to find. Well, Wirefly has just dropped us a note to say that they have taken shipment of some EVOs and will be selling them tomorrow via Facebook. Here is the exact email we were just dealt:

Wirefly Reserving HTC EVOs for Facebook Fans!

Wirefly has received a cache of EVOs today! As you know, HTC Evos have been hard to come by online or in stores. Because of the huge demand for the amazingly hot superphone and the limited supply constraints, we are reserving this offer to our loyal Facebook fans.  Sometime tomorrow, we will announce the HTC EVO 4G sale on Facebook– at a very special Wirefly price.  To take advantage of this offer, customers must be a ‘fan’ of Wirefly.     Here is how it works:

  • Sometime tomorrow, Wirefly will announce the launch of the HTC EVO 4G sale on Facebook.
  • Wirefly will publish a link to purchase the Evo on the “Friends Only” tab of its Facebook page.
  • Non-fans will not will be able view or access the link.
  • Those not familiar with Facebook: To become a ‘fan’ of Wirefly, go to www.Facebook.com/Wirefly and click on the ‘LIKE’ button at the top of the page.

Reminder:  The EVO will not be available on Wirefly.com.  To access this limited-time offer, you must “Like” Wirefly’s Facebook page

So, if you don’t mind giving Wirefly a “Like” on the “Facebooks” you can afford yourself the opportunity to score an EVO 4G. Good luck and happy hunting.

Is this a good time to say where’s the EVO review?

    • De’Booniquawua@TeenMobile

I was thinking the same thing.. WHERE IS THE EVO REVIEW?????? maybe someone should do that on Sunday afternoon instead of leaving up 2 day old crap articles about sh!t ROMs and rooting stories.

  • JM

I’ll pass. I shouldn’t have to work that hard to buy a product.

    • jawman

Are you joking? How on Earth is that hard?

    • somedudesblog

      You Gay?

  • Swagger

Welcome to the family future members of the rEVOlution. Holla at ya boy.

  • JM

I don’t have a “boy,” so now who do I holla at?

    …and why?

    • jawman

      Just holla.

  • PAPINYC

Dumb, dumb, and dumb. You must be 55 and on Verizon with a Blackberry and penny loafers (don’t forget the khaki Dockers).

    • jawman

Hey now, Dockers are making a come back.
+1 for the penny loafers though!

  • Mike

I find it very funny that the day before the Epic goes on sale you can now find an EVO everywhere, including Sprint’s online store where it has been on sold out status since launch.

  • PAPINYC

“Hard” because he wishes he had jumped on the bandwagon June 4th (or, during the first two weeks thereafter). And, now he probably goes into every Sprint store in his area every other day only to be told, “sorry, we don’t have any EVOs in stock today, try back tomorrow or later in the week.” Now he’s bitter.

  • Swagger

You see what happens Jawman when you mess with the rEVOlution….Hahaha.

  • PAPINYC

How come when I call someone a “Homo” it gets deleted, BGR ??????

    • Andrew Munchbach

Probably got caught by our spam filter. I think you can find a more eloquent way of telling someone you disagree with them :)

  • islapu

Cool. But when is it going to be on Verizon?

  • http://techapocalypse.com techapocalypse

Doesn’t Wirefly go through a weird credit check process? like they want like weird history info and stuff…just curious cause i was thinking of going through them but i’ve heard weird stories…

    • stunned

Wirefly is an authorized Sprint retailer. They ask for what Sprint requires — nothing more.

On upgrades, Sprint asks for personal info to verify identity and account ownership. Otherwise, somebody could use your account info to steal a subsidized phone. Remember, you’re not in a store where you can just show an I.D.

  • yup

    See this phone is sexy
The epic 4g…now that’s a glorified samsung rogue

evo 4g is probably the best exciting purchase i’ll make for quite some time. it has really good display and camera and running android is just awesome.

  • Michael

good luck to you all, i have mine but in all honesty. i think HTC needs to hire the same management team apple uses to manufacture the iphone as they sold like over 1.7 million iphones and having limited to no stock of the htc evo does nothing for the consumer or the bottom line. too bad we can’t get an accurate count of htc evos sold to date… only estimates

    anyway, enjoy your new evo!

  • PAPINYC

Okay Andrew, I shall try to refrain from calling anyone a “Homo” again but, you have to admit, calling oneself “Tom Brady” is really fantasizing about the man?

    Thanks :)
BTW, Great Epic 4G review yesterday…

    • Andrew Munchbach

Thank you. I know your feelings are still hurt because we didn’t review your beloved EVO, but hopefully over time the wounds will heal and we can make it up to you :D

  • JMD,..in Northern VA

Oh my,…here’s another EVO again,…forever seducing me to jump ship! IMHO, the EVO has to be the most sexist smartphone on the freaking planet! Period!!

  • PAPINYC

Thanks, but got over the absence of an EVOOO review last week (yes, took a couple of months). Besides, the informative posts on BGR outweigh any review; if it weren’t for BGR I wouldn’t have been one of the FIRSTS to sport official
    FROYO on my EVOOO….
    :):):) !!!!!

  • TomCruise

would we be contractually tied to befriend wirefly on facebook for 2 years if we purchase EVO through this campaign? ;-)

  • Pissed at wirefly

I Ordered 3 and updated my contract with sprint with these guys.

They put a hold on 1 of the 3 phones I ordered and shipped the other 2 now they want my social security number, drivers license number and date of birth to get the other phone.

Sprint doesn’t require this information and I won’t give it over the phone to someone in Asia.

I’m denying the charge and don’t care what they do from here on out. Saving $10 per phone isn’t worth the pain.

You can find the same phone on eBay, there is nothing exclusive about these deals. Also, the entire wholesale market is flooded with these phones.
