Full build of Android 2.2 for HTC DROID Incredible leaked

General

It looks like shipped-roms is at it once again. The site has just posted a full DROID Incredible Android 2.2 build Rom Upgrade Utility (RUU) exe file. The firmware has radio 2.15.00 07.28 and is ready and waiting for all of you with access to the a machine running Windows. If you’ve been anxiously waiting to get Froyo on your DROID Incredible, here is your unofficial chance. We’re going to flash this onto one of our DIs and report back with the findings. Let us know if you have any success!

UPDATE: We got the firmware all installed. Visually there aren’t many changes to the devices UI however… Flash 10.1 and 3G Mobile Hotspot capabilities are pre-loaded with this firmware build, Google’s Voice Actions were not pre-installed but are available in the Android Market, and the signal-meter issue (meaning the signal-meter only showing one bar when it has ample service) still seems to be there.

UPDATE 2: Put a quick video together… it’s after the break.

  • I-rant-bcoz-htcforgot-Legend

when will somebody leak the official froyo build for the legend … everyone’s getting it except the legend

  • Eric

I hope this means that the official update is not too far off. I am tempted to try this, but if it means reinstalling all of my applications then I think I will pass and wait for the official OTA update.

    • Rahshaka

      Eric,

Try Appbrain, makes reinstalling all of your apps a piece of cake.

      • Eric

Thank you Rahshaka. I will take a look at that.

Also, if you make sure to start the market app before you update and it will sync with what’s installed on your phone. Then as soon as you connect after the update it will automatically download those apps and reinstall .. without you doing anything. The only thing to watch out for is that some apps which are mainly free ones won’t do this. Just make a list of what you have installed so you can grab the few that don’t auto reinstall. :)

Wonder what improvements this adds over the previous leak. I’ve had 2.2 and sense ui on my Droid inc for a couple weeks now (Skyraider Rom).

One thing I can say is that I seem to have much worse reception after this radio update, I think others have experienced this as well. =(

Every time a rooting method or new OS is leaked people complain about problems they have. Doesn’t sound worth it in my opinion to install a halfbaked beta leak. Id rather have something known to be fuctional.

  • DInc

Leaked Beta < SkyRaider 2.5.2 Vanilla

  • Android

Hope this gets the Gingerbread upgrade later this year. Motorola, don’t F this up.

    • Jared

I hope Motorola puts Gingerbread on an HTC phone also.

  • Cbiffle

There is now a skyraider 3.0 rc2 for the incredible pretty cool..

  • reusable

Thank you…hope you include Froyo for Dummies install instructions.

  • OS Fragmentation sucks

Well this isn’t going to fix the terrible battery life.

    • mangina

What issue, I have had my Inc. since day one and have NO issues with battery life. I go a full day everyday, unless I use youtube.

      • Steve

Interesting. The two DInc owner I know charge their phones like crack addicts.

  • Jayhammy

I’m using Skyraider’s 3.0 RC2 ROM and it ROCKS. Never waiting for official OTAs again.
