LG E900 Windows Phone 7 device seen on YouTube

General

We know the full-QWERTY, horizontal-slider C900 will be LG’s first Windows Phone 7 device to debut here in the States. However, it looks like a full touch-screen iteration of the C900, labeled the E900, exists as well; possibly headed to Europe. The E900 gets a 6:20 walkthrough on YouTube courtesy of Mr. BlurryCam. The top and sides of the device have that Samsung Captivate look to them while the bottom is more rounded and contains the required Back, Home, and Search keys. Hit the jump, check out the video, and let us know what you think of the hardware.

i’d first like to know what this idiot was thinking doing the video sideways. secondly, 1950 want’s their UI back.

  • PAPINYC

Look Walter, just what you’ve been waiting for all this time.

  • PAPINYC

Wow; amazing how the screen can transition both horizontally and vertically,
    isn’t Walter?

This is going to make me jump off Android and go back to Windowless.
I could only watch 5 minutes, did anything happen in the last 00:01:48 remaining??

BTW, Walter did you shoot that video, is that your fat-ass hand ???

Not everyone is a super huge Android fan…and how could another OS out there hurt? If Android never came around the IOS would probably still not have cut and paste, and without IOS there would probably not be Android…so how exactly would someone new at this party (well not new, but u get the point) hurt? I didnt hear all this hate when Palm dropped their OS, so why does everyone have their 2 cents for an OS they havent had a chance to play with? BTW i have the Captivate, so im not an Android hater, i just hope i never become a close minded fan boy like u.

Because the homescreen is Ugly as Sin and most people Judge books by their Covers.. Thats what Covers are for, to get people to buy your book! The WP7 homescreen is ugly, ineffective, and unintuitive.. The rest of the UI looks great.. Then you almost get interested and remember they neutered half of the features you want..

        Ugly homescreen check
        no cut and paste check
        no removable mem check
        no sideloaded apps check
        no UI customization check
        no multitasking check
no replacing default M$ services check

why would I put up with all that too get Xbox Live for Phones and a few cool hubs?? It may not have all of the smartphone features but you can make a cool avatar.. Um.. Ill pass on that one

      • ItsMeBeaches

“The WP7 homescreen is ugly, ineffective, and unintuitive.”
Ok ugly is ur opinion…as they say beauty is in the eye of the beholder….but when did u hold a WP7 device in ur hand, to decide if its “ineffective and unintuitive?”

      • MicroNix

Do you really think the UI (from all the screen shots leaked) is sexy? I mean seriously, you would show you friends and family this phone if it was in your hands? Really?

      • ItsMeBeaches

        @MicroNix
I dont know why i wont let me reply to u…anyways, two things about me, first, i dont care how skinny a phone is, and second i dont care how pretty the UI looks…as long as it works, im fine with it…the only reason i would write off this phone is if they dont put cut and paste. If the device has enough on board memory i dont care about removable memory, and im certain multi-tasking will be on it before launch…but no, i dont care how pretty the UI is at all, as long as it works.

  • 1jaxstate1

Nice, can’t wait to actually see these phones live.

  • Bangout

Boo! Only watched a min of it and that was enough to know I was wasting my time.

  • ItsMeBeaches

I am gunna wait until i play with it myself before a give my opinion on it…the only thing that video showed me was that there isnt really any lag which is good, but outside of that nothing at all…dont think i will changing what i have for it, but its good to see windows is trying.

  • ThreeFourSeven

I’m just worried about the phones that comes out for WP7. All leaked I have seen kind of all look the same. I’m not impressed.

  • Mark

i like it….its different than anything on the market, thank you windows for not making another iphone replica!

To all MS fanboys out there: I am a windows user on the pc, on my smartphone I use ios. But will be switching to android on my next upgrade. Now back to MS, they have been in the mobile filed longer then Apple & Google put together. Where are they now? In last place. GIVE IT UP MS. :)

    • boogalooboy

Good plan that, giving up. Is that what you advise anyone who is faced with a challenge?

      • Celz

Apple was in last place when they made the iPod.. But yea WP7 at least in this iteration looks a snooze button type of deal.. Dont expect any lines at launch.. The homescreen sucks.. Id rather have Touch Wiz or full Moto Blur than that crap

  • Mr. Bill

I am reserved on WP7, I am a user of WM and have no hang ups about what is to come really, it flies or never leaves the ground.

Though I do like, that non shiny is the trend coming out with WP7, I really don’t care for a phone that looks like a wine glass and don’t hold water.

Yay for handsome phones, boo for fancy metro boy phones.

  • Steve

Can anyone confirm what, if any, benefits WP7 will offer that justify smartphone providers (and ultimately end users) paying a license fee? What will it offer than Android (open source, no fee) doesn’t?

    • Celz

The license fees are normally small and even though carriers dont pay a fee to use Android they still have to pay for development and testing. So open source isn’t free either.

  • Mitch

    NOT impressive.

    UI looks incomplete and unpolished.

  • AdamZ

It’s different – I’ll agree there… but I’m not sure it’s for me. Seems kind of “kiddy” to me, honestly.

As far as Microsoft giving it another go… go for it. It will only make the programmers working on Android (and iOS if Jobs weren’t in the way) work that much harder. Competition is always a good thing for the end user.

  • Topher86

I still think if app integration is spot on, and Microsoft gets a huge amount of developers on board during the first 6 months to a year, then WP7 is going to be up there w/ IOS. Android is amazing as far as customization, but the fact that most manufactures still want to throw skins on it is a huge problem. It’s going to be hard for Google to get Android looking as amazing as it could look and keep it’s appeal if they don’t put their foot down about giving kids the option of stock Android instead of skinned UI’s. Android is killing it right now, but I dunno… I’m still thinking it’ll be IOS>WP7>Android…. by the end ’11/beginning of ’12. But again, this is if Microsoft can get a huge apps push.

    • Ace Of Space

The manufacturers have to throw skins on Android or it just wouldn’t appeal to the masses. Function is not that important anymore as long as it looks purdy.

Take away the skins and nobody but the hardcore techies and diehard Google Fanboys would give a crap about Android.

HTC, Samsung, Motorola etc…..aren’t in the business of selling to niche markets. They are the McDonalds of the cell phone biz.

Slap on the cheese and move em’ out..

      • Topher86

lol..true. But Android is capable of being gorgeous; the few shots I’ve seen from 3.0 seem to be a step in the right direction, but Moto Ninja/Blur/Zombie/Jedi and TouchWiz kinda take the appeal away from developing a gorgeous OS because it’s just gonna get slapped w/ some proprietary skin. Sense is Sense..and it might be the only skin that’s helped beautify Android.

Anyway, back on topic, I’m excited about WP7….

    • Mitch

      You are nuts.

Android has so much more of a headway, and is already a MUCH better product than WM7. I don’t see this doing well at all, but MS does have a lot of $$$ to throw around and waste.

Keep in mind I don’t own an Android device so I am not biased.

  • bob

Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Ugly Phone 7

    • bob

the phone looks nice enough though.. they should put android on it ;)

      • Ace Of Space

Why does it need Android? There are already a butt load full of Android Phones available.

Surely there must be one to your liking somewhere out there.

  • Zoe

I did hold a win7 phone the other day. First impression made me realize why I LOVE my iPhone and Android (yes I have 2). It felt like a toy and had to be plugged in if you used the UI (battery lasted less than my old iPhone 3Gs after 2 years). This may be because it is a demo.

So unless there are some killer apps on this that done exist on Android / iPhone… it is DOA.

    • Big Enchilada

      Felt like a toy?

You obviously haven’t used any of the My Touch Line….lol

And the battery can’t be any worse than the Vibrant (which I own) I just look at my phone and the battery instantly drains by half.

    • zee

are there unicorn in the future….are u still ignorant as you are now?
Seriously its a shame you dont welcome competition….we win in the end!

  • Mohammad

windows phone 7 – life without walls.

  • Hudson

    @Mohammed…

Windows phone 7 – life without walls, friends or a life!

Get an iPhone, Android, WebOS, Meemo, Win phone 7, phone in that order…

  • zee

Glad to c microsoft trying to be orignal. its a shame android litterly copied ios. but then again half of ios core apps are from google. used wm for years, swithchd to ios, now am on android…..and feels like wm and ios together. I want a new experience now…… so i think wp7 will be next…….. what do you guys think?

    • Mitch

      I think WM7 will fail.

It looks terrible, I’ve heard it performs terrible, and apps will be limited for too long of a time.

Android is already established and 3.0 will be killer. iOS is far superior to WM7, webOS is an incredible product but HP needs to get on the damn boat.

BB OS6 and WM7 will be failures. I use a RIM device, just an FYI.

      • The Big Enchilada

I heard the Oakland Raiders are a lock for the Superbowl too.

      • zee

well said mitch but dont you think we should try and see the platform in person? I use android right now…… but i hated it before.
