I could wait for LTE but I don’t think it will be widespread till close to 2012 anyways.

Thats exactly what I said after debating between waiting for LTE or getting a Droid X…Looked at the Droid 2 for the updated keyboard…it still feels the same..I can text better on the X in landscape and I love the larger screen…Sick of Tmob, So I ordered the X….But who wants to pay for tierd pricing for LTE thats not widespread until 2012+…

  • motofooker

Ya, I’m sure the Torch will sell out…lol

    • Stupid_black_turtleneck_and_bluejeans

I think the Droid X torches the “Torch”

YAY, i got my unlimited data back for my new torch. Also, yesterday when i got the phone (1 day early lol) the ATT dude told me each store only received three BB torches for today. He might have just meant his store but for the rest of you looking for a torch, happy hunting :)

  • hdman

Even the torch won’t help BBerries failed Storm…LOL

    • Tdot34

Failed storm? The Storm series is the 3rd best selling smartphone ever… I’d say it was a success, even if it did have its mishaps.

Not sure if it’s Motoblur but it does seem a little sluggish, just a little. My wifes D1 with Froyo seems just as smooth. Could also be because my Incredible is super fast. However the few reviews I saw praised the D2 especially running benchmarks.

What do 4th grade girls have in common with Blackberry users? They both weight 60lbs and both know how to use Blackberry phones.

    • sprat

      worst joke ever?

    • Jason

so this is the creative mind of a fandroid user? lol

      • Nick

Atleast this fandroid user isnt buying a phone with a tiny screen, tiny processor, borderline camera, and little app support. I praise blackberry for 6.0, but seriously everyone who buys this phone is already living 6 months in the past.

      • Jason

Again, we all get it, Droid phones are great so 22nd century and can pretty much do what ever BB can do, so why the bashing? Its so childish and hence all fandroids are such kiddies. “My marbles are more shinny than yours” lol. Recess over kids go back to your home room. get my point?

Whats the difference between Max and a 4th grader?

4th graders know what ram is,

I would go for Droid 2!

  • joe

Just played with a Droid2 at the store. I don’t understand why they still haven’t matched the smoothness of iphone’s user interface. Scrolling between screens is choppy. The whole thing feels like a beta

    • Bard

I’ve noticed that in ALL Androids. Not enough to deter me, but definitely noticable

  • NairRo

I’m Happy to Report I Have Droid Two in hands finally!!! After going to 4 different stores I finally have one that works correctly….

    • Bard

So, you ended up buying one anyways, huh?

Are you saying a new, out of the box phone is better than a demo?

  • kalikidtx

Picked up a Torch at the at&t store in Kona on the Big Island of Hawaii, they had at least 8-10 in stock, I was third in line to get one, I imagine they may be sold out by now though. They did not have any extra staffing or anything….

9800 – doesn’t suck, not earth shatteringly great but good in a Canadian kind of way… don’t shoot too high, don’t shoot too low

  • MikeD

So any lines run outside the stores?

  • inichira88sm

I played with one and it was fine. Im waitingfor the R2D2 edition. The fash player is awesome. Froyo rocks!

The Torch is amazing. I played with it several times, and everything worked smoothly, without a hitch. I got a kick from someone’s comment that it is so “six months ago.” It may be slightly behind, but at least it works properly unlike so many of these Android phones. It may not make blended margaritas like the Iphone or serve sushi like the Android, but man does it do: phone, email, calendar, web, and lots of apps so very well. Its gotten to the point now with its smooth touchscreen and new OS that most professionals who do a lot of typing, a lot a calling, and a little playing will be very satisfied.

I almost forgot. The keyboard is amazing; oh soooo solid. And you know what, I can text and do everything still with one hand like all the other blackberries. I love that I don’t have to use two hands to use the device.

    • Jason

      or carry extra batteries/chargers

  • Brynner

I wish the Droid 2 was the portrait slider rather than a lanscape, that would have made it visually perfect.

I just switched from BB 9700 to Torch. I loved the 9700. The Torch is AMAZING. Fast; touch screen works great; keyboard is better than 9700; new OS and apps are huge upgrade. RIM deserves a lot of credit here. I don’t want a huge brick with a snazzy screen. I want a small device that works. Torch does it all in small form factor. Battery life is only complaint, but the big screen devices suffer as well. You Torch haters need to find something else to complain about. Yes, RIM will probably come out with an updated version of the Torch later this year. And I will happily pay full freight to get it. Stop predicting RIM’s demise. This device is great for hardcoe BB users and casual users alike.
