webOS 1.4.5 update to start hitting handsets today

According to a Sprint support document uncovered by the folks over at PreCentral, Palm Pre owners could start seeing webOS 1.4.5 pushed out to their handsets as early as today. Some of the changes listed in 1.4.5 include:

  • Web podcasts download correctly
  • Correct entry of text on Web
  • Sprint branded default email signature corrected
  • Power use and battery optimization
  • Send video via multimedia messaging from Video application
  • Video trim feature now works to send in a message
  • SprintTV upgrade to V 3.5.4 and enhanced parental controls

The last update Sprint’s Pre saw was back in March, so we’re sure any new code will be welcomed with open arms. Hopefully, we’ll get some details on what webOS 2.0 will look like in the very near future. Any Sprint Pre owners still out there? How are you holding up?

    Lipstick on a pig. I have no issue with the WebOS. The hardware is incredibly poor and I’m jumping ship in September…

    WTF Verizon?!? Where is the 1.4.5 update?? Everyone else has it, why do we have to wait?

      At least verizon has mobile hot spot, that’s the one thing I wish this phone could do

    This is ridiculous….1.4.5 has been out over a month & a half, everyone has it but Verizon subscribers. New apps & games come out daily that won’t run on my phone because my carrier is dragging their feet for no discernable reason, except maybe to chase away customers…I know I’ve had enough….thanks for nothing Verizon!

    vzv- no promised adobe 10.1 delay-delay-delay mumbo jumbo-Thought I was buying a “full featured” phone with pre plus..What a ripoff..cant even get simple news videos…Refund me Verizon! You have just lost a long time custumer. -Should have kept my old 700p

    I have been trying out an HTC EVO 4G. I’m going back to my Palm Pre because the EVO isn’t enough better to be worth the money right now. The EVO is better in just about every way, even has a significantly better battery life, just not worth $200 with a 2 yr. contract extention. I like my Pre.
