Software

Today, RIM released an update to their BlackBerry Desktop Manager software use for device management. The update, version 6.0, adds support for the BlackBerry Torch 9800 and comes with a completely new user interface. Earlier in the design process, RIM noted that it wanted to remove some of the ambiguity from dialog boxes and buttons and make common user actions more accessible. The new software is up on RIM’s site and ready to be downloaded. Enjoy!

Finally RIM is starting to make desktop software that doesn’t look outdated. I’m looking forward to see what RIM is coming out with.

Obviously you do or you wouldnt be here writing stupid nonsense. Noone can ever take you seriously since you go around spewing stupid idiotic nonsense like RIM sucks they only have 512 megs of ram, HTC phones have 8 gigs of ram.

Youre plain and simply stupid and again no nothing about technology and should stop visting bgr and instead go to computerbasics.com

The new interface and sync functionality is fantastic.

    BUT….

It still wont sync with 64-bit Office 2010.

Really? wow what is RIM’s problem?

  • Jack

Why does it look like iTunes????

Can’t RIMM be original and come up with something even more consumer friendly???

    • Hmm

Maybe because the guy now works for RIM?

    • RealDeal

Why does it look like I tunes? 90% of all management apps have this same layout. This is not something Apple invented.

Looks a lot like the Mac DM

I notice that with this version, it allows me to install the Asian fonts and related input methods on my 9700. This is a nice addition.

Crackberry can’t take any criticism. so sad…

    • Jason

No we can just not on the non constructive and non-sense comments coming from lack educated Fandroids and Apple Fanboys who only see the World through their phone as it is being regarded as the all and end all.

  • Federico

They also released the 1.0.4 version for Mac… assume does the same thing than the PC version… I really hope they provide full 6.0 functionality when they release OS 6 for the 9700…

  • Alios

Awesome and sync is so seemless. I am loving it.

Wow? Yeah I guess. Am I the only one that is embarassingly unimpressed with rim lately? I mean really guys/gals the quote on quote torch was about as amazing as a pigeon using a crosswalk, and now (more like finally) an update to one of the (arguably) worst desktop manager I ever had? Come on, I mean let’s be real here. Why don’t they just skin Android and come out with a competitive phone. AND PLEASE DON’T SAY THAT TORCH IS REMOTELY COMPETITIVE. Google for life, curve in a past life.

    • mike

google needs to be slapped down. too big way to fast and acting just like a behemouth with predatory tactics.

I would not use ANYTHING google!

buying into android is your next step to becoming a droid.

    • Jason

“Google for life” Sounds like someone been starring too close and too long at the Google’s coin pendulum back and forth. “when I snap my finger you will wake up but this time you will buy what ever Google sell and you also need to stand up to Google products when ever you see or feel a competitors”.

    • RealDeal

It’s definately competitive, best selling phone on Amazon right now.

  • mike

where is the redirector in version 6??

    thanks!
