HP CEO resigned amidst sexual harassment allegations

General

This is not how you want to start your weekend. The Wall Street Journal is reporting that HP CEO Mark Hurd has resigned, effective immediately, due to sexual-harassment allegations. In a statement, Mr. Hurd said: “As the investigation progressed, I realized there were instances in which I did not live up to the standards and principles of trust, respect and integrity that I have espoused at HP and which have guided me throughout my career.” HP said that the former CEO did not violate the company’s sexual-harassment policy, but they did find instances were he violated HP’s “Standards of Business Conduct.” Chief Financial Officer Cathie Lesjak will assume the roll of interim CEO. Hurd had been with HP for the past five years.

CNBC ran a special report on Hurd’s ouster by the board. Apparently he was among the most respected CEOs in business. Because the HP board didn’t find merit to any sexual harassment allegations, he was asked to resign instead of being fired for wrongdoing. Under these circumstances CNBC reported that he will make $40-50 million by leaving. This is on top of the $90 or so million he made in the last 3 years.

Wow. The big time CEO world is a different place indeed.

No harrasment eh? Sounds like there were two willing partners to me.

Oh well. Good luck HP, in your search for a worthy replacement.

Sounds like a great opportunity for Tiger Woods to get a new Sponsor….

It’s usually the fat ugly bitches that complain about sexual harrassment.

All you have to do is smile at them or do something nice for them and they report you to HR.

This happened to my senior manager who was male and gay.

A new girl who was rigid and unfriendly to everyone reported him for his flirtatious behavior and messages laced with smiley faces etc.

But he was gay and everyone knew it. That didn’t stop her complaints to HR. He finally got stressed out and sick of all the accusations and he finally quit.. then sued the company for emotional distress.

I know there are legit cases where sexual harassment happens but some overly sensitive man haters take it a bit too far sometimes.

Goodbye to Hurd the sicko perv. He was worthless anyway. He had absolutely no vision. All he could do is cut expenses. You could hire a circus monkey to do that.

Now he can go molest men and women somewhere else.

I just hope he can “make it” on the paltry 12.2 million severance packafege May have to downsize to a Prop Jet from a Lear. It could be tough. I hope he pays back the company the 20K he compensated his girlfriend for “stuff’ If you do not know the whole story, check it out. He is a true executive type thats for sure.

HP has a much higher standard on ethics & integrity than Symantec. Sign…

As I have reported to Symantec Ethics about David Freer’s (VP, Symantec – Norton, APJ) misconducts (fraud, having dissented sex with me as he lied, using company resources for personal benefits – hundreds hours phone calls, hanging out with me during office hours, negative impacts on Symantec corporate image), what they do surprise me too. They basically ignore – never process the investigation, covering the serial lying & cheating criminal up, then threaten me. As Warren Buffet said when he decides which company is worth to invest, he values the CEO’s ethic and integrity the most. Being a senior management, David Freer shall walk the talks, instead he has set up a terrible example. How dare Symantec always campaign the company itself as defeat cyber criminals, but in the real world, Symantec acts just like robbers, mafia, & criminals. How ironic!

David Freer (VP, Symantec Consumer Business Units – Norton, APJ) is a BIG LIAR! He lied to me for more than two and half years for my true feelings, time, and money. Also kept saying I am the only one in his life. Even this year on Feb. 2, he used company line to lead me to have phone sex with him. Until I found out there’s some other woman, he made up another lie and finally admitted he’s been living with her for a year. Later, I realized they were all lies. He actually has married March 2009. And now he just totally disappeared and not answering any phone calls, acting like “hit & run” irresponsible baby. Can you trust someone like this, with no ethics and integrity? The more unbelievable things are David Freer newly-wed wife – SUZY WALSHAM, she shamefully admitted she was the third person who broke up David Freer & his ex 12 years relationships, and mocking at me as the 3rd “unsuspected” person, as she agreed with his husband’s behaviors!!!!!! SHAME ON both of you, DAVID FREER & SUZY WALSHAM!!!!!!! (THEY BOTH WORK FOR SYMANTEC)

Probably just got caught making copies of himself with the copier by some girl who’d be offended by anything.

It is such a shame that people from high positions and respectable offices do such things. Hurd resigning is his way of exiting gracefully. But does anybody think about the girl he harassed? He loses his job and she, her dignity. I think there should be a law, a more strict one regarding this.

Glad he’s gone and he can take this faulty laptop that HP refused to repair with it. (dv9500 with Intel chip)

    NEVER buy a HP product.
