BlackBerry 6 developer slides and icons leaked

mobile

We have a feeling that you won’t have to wait long to see what BlackBerry 6 looks like, however, if you are one of those people who needs to know right now, we may have something for you. It appears as though the BlackBerry 6 ship is leaking like a sieve, as over 1,200 icons and some very detailed BB 6 developer slides have made their way onto the internet. Most of the 1,200 leaked icons remain unchanged from previous versions of the OS, however some have been updated to better compliment the newer, hipper, BlackBerry 6 UI. As for the slides, they include: new API details, UI walkthroughs, pinch and zoom details, and graphics specs among other things. Hit the jump for the links, and let us know what you think!

Still didn’t show which current phones will be upgradeable to 6.0. Bastards!

very interesting slides.. it looks like they have a lot to offer in 6.0. I hope it’s as promising as it looks!

Looks like my Storm1 won’t be getting upgraded :P

  • Terry

Hmmm….. maybe I will go back to BB now.

  • iMiiTH

They did show a Storm 2 and a Curve in the slides, hoping for the best!

Were these slides hand drawn? Blackberry is for morons, developed by morons. Security? You need security to tell your plumber ‘meet me at the house at 6, Joe. Yeah, my basement is a mess. Hope no one intercepts this!’.

      You’re an idiot.

Hmm demographics…Appears my boss needs to shoot me a pay rise to own my blackberry!

I’m really pulling for RIM on this one. I love my BB but it’s becoming harder and harder to resist the call of Android.

Credit should go to mobistack.com and blackberryrocks.com for the icons leak. They had that up first, and I don’t see any attribution.

Why do you need porn when you have BlackBerry icons to fap to?

  • mike

If you look through the icons , one of the icons is the Tmobile Fav Five thingy? is tmo also getting the new 9800?

I hope I will be able to add 06 to my Droid X and slow it down alittle!

  • Bob

    I like that one!

Looks like a theme upgrade lol.

If there’s anything Android and iPhone users can agree on it’s this: RIM fucking sucks.

    • Wow

If you think it’s only a theme upgrade, then you suck at reading and understanding things.

Oooh snap. You FINALLY get some features present in other devices and now you’re on your high horse? Please. RIM finally stepped foot in 2008. Clap for them.

I was a BB user for a year until I realized I was holding a device that was being dwarfed in features by iOS and Android. Why would I pay $100+ a month in service for something that’s slow and crappy? “Hey, can you google something for me?” “Sure, it’ll only take my 12 minutes. Wait. No. 24. Communication error.” Oh wait. Let me pull the battery out and wait 10 minutes for it to reboot.

Then again, you could be a prototypical BB user. Satisfied with RIM’s complacency and still pushing its e-mail feature as its saving grace. Have fun with your Zack Morris phone. Tell Screech I said what’s up.

      • O Boy

And let me guess…you were one of them that camped out over night to say “Oh look, I got one!”. I have had far too many phones to remember, but one thing is for sure. They ALL have their ups and downs (including the mighty iPhone!). With age, comes maturity. One day you’ll be old enough to relate.

Funny part is, myself and a number of my customers are Blackberry users. We’ve tried the Droid OS on several iterations (I’ve had a Moto Droid, an X, and an Ally), and we still go back to Blackberry.

There’s one thing I tell every customer I have who’s trying to decide between the two. Blackberry devices are for business, Droids are for entertainment. One’s a tool, one’s a toy. Take your pick based on what you want out of it.

There is still not a device on the market that handles my email, contact list, calendar syncs and appointment invites like my Blackberry does. Period.

I saw icons like that once. It was on my 1986 IBM PC Jr. I was coding in Pascal at the time which even now is more advanced than BB OS6.

If your BB doesn’t have 512mb of ram, don’t ever expect os6 to run on it.
Pearl 3G is a no, 9700 bold is a no, anything before 9800 is a no.

    • http://seriousmobile.wordpress.com Donny

So the recent 9650 Tour that evolved to the Bold branding that has 512MB of RAM is not going to get an upgrade? I think you missed an expresso shot this morning. But for the most part I believe you’re correct. I hope you’re partially wrong in that a limited OS 6 will be released for Pearl 3G/9100 and 9700 for the most part.
