WSJ: Apple investigating iOS 4 on iPhone 3G complaints

mobile

According to the Wall Street Journal, Apple, Inc. is looking into reports that the performance of iOS 4, on the iPhone 3G, is sub-par. The most common gripes are that the two-year old handset is “sluggish” and “burns through a charge” very quickly after the update is installed. Anyone out there experiencing this?

My 3G was very slow after the update. Many apps, especially the newly installed iBooks kept crashing on startup or started very slow. Slow reactions of the keyboard etc. etc.
I tried most of the proposed solutions. The only thing that seemed to improve the situation a bit was a full reset with reinstallation of the iPhone not from a backup (which erased all of my settings and saved app data). Unfortunately the problems came back after a while. I feel like I’m back in the nineties when I had to reinstall Windows every month to keep my computer from coming to a full stop.

God yes!… bad enough to ditch the 3g and move up to an Atrix
