BGR Poll: What smartphone operating system update are you most looking forward to?

mobile

We thought it might be a good time to try and take the collective smartphone OS pulse of the BGR community. The question we are posing to you today: What smartphone operating system update are you most looking forward to? Now, your answer can be the OS that your phone currently uses, but it doesn’t have to be. If you’re an Android user, but the BlackBerry 6 buzz excites you, feel free to give RIM a nod. iPhone user intrigued by Froyo? Go ahead, give Android a vote… we won’t judge. Let us know which OS you think has the most buzz!

Who else is wondering how WebOS managed to pop up as first after beeing the alltime underdog since this poll was published?

Frankly, this poll does not seem to have ANY relevance at all…

    • LISTEN TO ME

actually it says alot about how much webOS users love that operating system.

could be the case, right. But given tha fact that you can vote a hundet times in one hour if you unly do not accept cookies this is probably not true ;-)

Don’t get me wrong, im not a hater at all (only of iFanboys) and do like WebOS somehow but this looks strange….

Actually, nothing strange about it at all. First, webOS was added late to the list, and the community didn’t find out about it until after quite a few votes had been tallied. And second, we’re just a very passionate community. Once we learned about the poll, the tweets, forum posts, and blog posts started to fly.

Yes, it’s just a poll, but we like to show our commitment to the platform everywhere we can. We a small community, but feisty.

yeah, well put. Webos 2.0 go.

That is so true… I was actualy the one who pointed out that webOS 2.0 was missing from the list…. And I’m not even a Palm user anymore!!! In a moment of weekness I succumbed to the hype around the Evo and got one. There are a few things I like about it, but Android, quite frankly, isn’t one of them. I’m looking forward to the next iteration of Palm devices and the next reealease of the OS.

Web OS truly is the most beautiful / functional OS out there. HP just needs to bring the hardware and the mobile world will change.

WebOS is trully amazing. I’m looking forward for a better hardware. Amazing WebOS + Durable Hardware = Perfect Smartphone.

lol I didn’t notice you could vote more than once if you wait an hour because it said “Thank you but we already counted your vote” so didn’t try it again.

But I voted webOS also because it rocks, once the word got out there was a poll, all of us webOS junkies came looking! At any random time of day there are always 400+ REGISTERED users(more than 4 times that guests) browsing the precentral forums, and the webOS community is very very supportive us our obsession. go webOS!!

I hope WebOS 2.0 will rock! I love my PrePlus, it’s tweaks, and the great HomeBrew community.

However, I think all new OS will be good for smartphones and users. Competition is almost always good, it drives innovation and creativity. These are good times to live in!

Will this survey get closed sometime and the results discussed by BGR?

    • Thomas Coe

I don’t think they’re gonna close the poll until WebOS is losing again, they don’t want anyone to know how good webOS really is.

Does anybody else notice that iOS is in last(discounting other). I thought it would be on top. I wish that wp7 was higher up though. Will webOS 2.0 even come out in the near future?

    P.S I HATE iPHONE!!!!!!!

    • Thomas Coe

That’s because it’s only iOS 4.1… It’s really not that big an upgrade from iOS 4. And I really don’t think Android should be that high up, it’s just 2.2. It’s been out for a while now. And yes, webOS 2.0 should be released sometime this year, probably alongside a new flagship webOS device.
