Samsung Galaxy Q specs leak, 1 GHz Android, GSM, full-QWERTY?

mobile

MobileCrunch seems to have acquired some new information about the rumored Samsung Galaxy Q. The Q will purportedly be an Android 2.2 powered, quad-band, GSM phone complete with a 7.2 Mbps HSDPA radio running on the 900 MHz, 1900 MHz, and 2100 MHz frequencies. The device will be driven by a 1 GHz Hummingbird processor, and sport: a 3-inch Super AMOLED display (with multitouch), Wi-Fi b/g/n, Bluetooth 3.0, 16 GB of internal storage, 8 megapixel rear-facing camera, 1.3 megapixel front facing camera, and weigh in at 3.8 ounces. The devices spec sheet closely resembles that of the Galaxy S, with improvements/additions to the operating system and camera(s). Looks like the Epic 4G will have some company in the high-end, Android, full-QWERTY market place!

    insane i tell u insane

    • Donna

      It said up to 7.2 mb and Verizon is not capable of those speeds, so it looks like it’s going to AT&T

      • Fanboi

        No it’s not… otherwise the 850MHz band would be 3G capable…

      • vzw_and_lovin_it

        does it matter i just simply stated that the phone stats are insane….so honestly what is the point you are attempting to make donna

      • Chut Pata

        You also stated in your name that you are a VZW lover. So Donna pointed out that it ain’t coming to Verizon :)

      • VZW_AND_LOVIN_ITno

        as if the band frequencies didnt say that already chut pata….what my sign on name is, simply is irrelevant to the convo,,,please learn to pay attention to whats in front of you sir.

    Great. Enjoy it Europe, because this is not coming to the only continent that matters.

    • Chris Meyers

      The continent of fat slobs who sit in front of digital appliances the majority of the day (and now night) and get progressively fatter and uglier each generation? That continent?

      • Israel

        UK!!!=D

      • LetsHaveAnArguementOverTheInternet

        I second this.

  • drcopodj

    this is not a qwerty slider, but a full qwerty candy bar (blackbery style)…

  • Fanboi

    3″ screen? Must be a touchscreen/full querty candy bar phone.

    Only 900, 1900 and 2100 on 3G? Ya, this seems like it wont be coming to America.

    At least it will be rocking 2.2

  • Nunya Bizness

    Don’t you mean 4″ screen instead of 3″ screen ??????

  • vzw_and_lovin_it

    To bad this wont land here in the U.S no time soon :(

  • http://twitter.com/mistercarter7 mike

    wow, those specs are lame
    3″ display and 720×480 pixels for a phone sized BIGGER than a Galaxy S?
    maybe (and hopefully) it’s their answer to the Moto Charm

  • OS Fragmentation sucks

    Not getting another Samsung Android device after dealing with thelaggy Captivate. No thanks.

    • Fanboi

      Will this phone be running TouchWiz 3.0?

      Also, the Captivate is running 2.1 and 2.2′s speed enhancements may just take the lag away thats caused by TouchWiz*

      *purely speculation

  • OS Fragmentation sucks

    Why are people upset over the 3 inch screen? From reading, it’s sounds like a blackberry style device where 3 inches is plenty large when you also have a full QWERTY that’s not a slider. Though I’m not interested in this device that screen is more than enough in size and pixels for that type of device.

    • iFloss™

      I love your name. Just had to point that out.

  • Neo

    Another android phone.

    • Jouten

      @Neo

      “Another android phone.”

      How long have you been withholding this information Neo?! Huh?!?!

  • websurphur

    how is it comparable to epic 4g when it just has a 3 inch screen.

    • iPwnNubs4Fun

      @websurphur

      how is the 4g Epic?

      How about how it’s screen is a FULL half inch smaller then the Samsung Vibrant? yea, that’s epic for sure…

  • Jouten

    It’s too thin to be a slider, so my edumuhcated guess will be a candy bar qwerty (Nokia E72 type) device.

    If so, I’m actually looking forward to it!

  • iFloss™

    I hardly consider a 3 inch screen to be considered High-End. This is a MotoCharm competitor. Europe has more of a market for Candybar Touchscreen phones than the US has.

    This isn’t hitting our shores anytime soon. And i’m glad of that, we need less models =____= too many damn models promotes homogeneous designs. Look at the Galaxy S, don’t you think AT&T & T-Mo could’ve had the same cell, or how about the Touch Pro2 which came in different shapes and sizes for each carrier. This is stupid people don’t realize that Blackberries all look the same because they’re not realizing that carriers have the same thing going on just under different rate plans and names. Or maybe i’m asking for too much.

  • 3 Phones Jugglin

    Ummm….NO. The Epic will not have Competition. Say it with me…3″ Screen. Flip phones do better than that. Damn you At&t. Really takin your android offerings serious.

  • iPwnNubs4Fun

    @Donna,

    FYI Donna. check your specs. T-Mobiles HSPA I the ONLY network currently capable of supporting 7.2mb down speeds. them or even Sprints 4G. certainly not ATT. do your research b4 you try to PR for your ATT friends on here

    Hilarious that you posted about not PRing for ATT from your iPhone.

  • Chris Meyers

    Americans are literally the dumbest creatures on Earth these days. It took me 5 minutes and a cursory glance to determine that this isn’t a slider but a blackberry style device. Did you not notice the 9mm depth? That would be why it has a 3 inch screen.

    • Topher86

      This is kinda off topic, but I love how easy it is for ppl outside the States to comment on the intelligence of Americans, but if their country becomes under siege, or a natural disaster hits, we’re among the first countries they look to for help.

      • dans

        Maybe, but before i got to you, i was just thinking this the dumbest collection of comments ive ever seen.

    • jdad

    I was at a Radio Shack today and there was a very square bar form-factored, t-mobile and Samsung branded android dummy phone which the salesman wouldn’t comment on. He said that it was upcoming.I wonder if it is the same phone. PS…Sorry to see the turn the comments have taken…
