Motorola DROID X inventory remains exceedingly low

General

In a research note to investors, analyst Mark McKechnie of Gleacher & Co pointed out what most Android fans on Verizon already know- the inventory of the flagship DROID X remains incredibly low. According to Gleacher, most retail stores are sold out of the DROID X and all incoming inventory is being used to fill existing pre-orders. Walk-in sales of the flagship handset are near impossible. The situation online is not much better with the target ship date now pushed back nine days to August 4th. Anyone still looking for DROID X frustrated by this delay or are you happy to wait for this hot Android handset?

How pathetic must you be to think that waiting another week is a huge problem?
If you wanted it that badly, I’m pretty sure you would have pre-ordered it. If not, then you probably had a decent phone or just realized it was gonna be good. In either case, waiting even 2-3 weeks shouldn’t be an issue.

I have one but it has the screen flicker issue. It is a very nice device but I must say it is a little glitchy. I have had several freezes and software malfunctions aside from the screen flicker which gets worse the longer that you have the phone on. I have really enjoyed using it for the last few days though Android is so much better than WM I can hardly wait for the right phone to be available for me since I am declining a replacement and holding out for something even better.

The sad part is that the inventory is not really all that low on this phone…i ordered my phone on 7/20/10 and i got a shipping notice on 7/23/10 so the back order is not out as far as VZW claims it…my phone wasn’t supposed to ship till 8/4/10 as well…
