Today, T-Mobile announced that they’re not slowing down on their continued expansion of HSPA+ roll outs. The Magenta carrier is on track and aims to cover over 185 million people by the end of the year in more than 100 metropolitan markets. If you’re living in an HSPA+ coverage area, you’ll be pleased to know that 16 T-Mobile 3G devices can now take advantage of the increased speeds. Looking for some hardware news? The webConnect Rocket USB stick will get a broader roll out in the form of the Rocket 2.0 with swivel form factor which we nailed last week. And finally, the Dell Inspiron Mini 10 netbook will start to become available in retail stores which you can pair with that shiny new Rocket 2.0, also just like we called. Full list of latest HSPA+ lit up cities after the break!

    Its been a week since i was on tmobile. I miss it. I haven’t had a dropped call since or had a data timeout. It feels like im cheating.

    While i could some times get 3.5 mbps downloading. Ill take the consistant 1.3 on Verizon everywhere. Oh and staying on a call uninterupted between cincinnati and columbus is a nice change.

    Raleigh, NC still isn’t on the list. There are close to half a million people in Raleigh, and we still didn’t make the list. What’s up with that?

      Raleigh is likely not a very big market for T-Mobile. I live in MInneapolis and everybody and their mother has T-Mobile, so they’re a priority. If more people had T-Mobile in Raleigh, then they would likely also be on the list.

    @Bean,

    try using tmo in new England; there is zero coverage here!

    Winston statements like yours just go to show how ignorant you are. Of course they have coverage there just not in all places. Go back to your mom’s basement.

    I’ve seen multiple reports stating that 16 current 3G devices can take advantage of the increased speeds, but no current devices are fully compatible. Does anyone know which current 3G devices take advantage of the increased speeds?

      All of their phones since the G1 are compatible with max speeds of 7.2Mbps.

    I was a long time customer of TMobile with at some point 5 phones in the family plan. They are OK especially price wise but since I moved workplace in the HEART of CHicago and have gotten no signal from where I sat 8-10 hours a day, then I had to move to Verizon. TMobile would be a killer carrier if not for these kinds of experiences.

    What I’m really waiting for is for them to continue their coverage expansion. HSPA+ doesn’t really cost them much to upgrade to. I’d like the whole East Coast to be Magenta like the VZW network. I bet if they had greater coverage they’d get a lot more customers because t-mo’s network is super reliable.

    We were one of the last markets to get 3G coverage. There are over a million people in our metropolitan area. T-Mobile obviously doesn’t prioritize.

    Greenville, SC instead of Charleston? How the fuck does that happen. lmao
