Rumor: DROID 2 hitting on August 12th

Fresh out of the rumor oven, still warm. Engadget is reporting that the Motorola DROID 2 could launch on Verizon Wireless as soon as August 12th. The tech site quotes a “trusted source” who also detailed that the 12th could be some sort of “soft launch” — as a full DROID creepy commercial media blitz is not set to kick off until the 26th. There was also mention of a Star Wars special edition DROID 2 with a picture of R2-D2 on the back of the phone. If the report is accurate, August 12th is just 23 days away… who’s excited?Read

    ok seriously you guys bashing this and that need hobbies,,yes right now no android phone is going to dethrone iphone, and trust that the manufactures understand that. But also to the clown touting palms web os, seriously that couldn’t even help palm, bottom line a phone is a phone, iphone and android are both great in there own ways, and for the people trashing verizon on their marketing, you are retarded, verizon has made winning campaigns for years and the droid campaign has been one of their best, financially, and you guys probably at best have your own small blog, so say what you must,i am done rambling.

    As an owner of a Droid X i have no clue what these screen issues are, the phone is amazing its legit the best phone on the market imo, but that should be expected as Motorola plus the best OS on the market=sex.

    Oh and for the one who thinks we should all get Palm OS phones, i rather not have my phone so god damn limited to what i can do and not be a gimped smart phone that has a horrible design. Android is the best OS on the market hell even the dominate RIM will fall before Droid overtime.

    There are no more screen issues on the X than there are actual iphone 4 problems. Gizmodo just seemed to have it out for Apple and made a huge deal out of a minor issue.
