DROID Incredible 720p update slated to drop this weekend? (Updated)

A rumor originating from Droid-Life suggests that DROID Incredible owners may be the recipients of an OTA update this weekend. The update is rumored to bring 720p video recording, several bug fixes, Skype, the MyVerizon app, updated widgets, and the DROID red eye boot animation to the Incredible. Some hard-core Android fans will be disappointed to know that this update is expected to be Android 2.1 and not the much anticipated Froyo build. If this rumor pans out, and Big Red sticks to its previous rollout schedule, Incredible owners should receive the update in waves with a small number receiving it on day one and increasing numbers on subsequent days.     Gotta say that I agree it’s BS. I have seen no one (that I trust) confirm that they have gotten the update.

    the only people that have the update are phone testers and the people that downloaded the leaked ota. nobody else has it. it is going back for testing because it failed due to the legal issues with the boot screen. we can expect to see the update sometime within two weeks.

    I think I got the incredible’s update!! all of a sudden the screen was black with the htc name in the middle. when when it boote back up, my home screen became a lot snappier and I check video recording and it looked better. also when l looked at the about my phone section under settings it say 2.1 update 1. no droid eye on boot up tho. any1 think this is the update or did my phone just crash then reboot. lol

      Your phone did a warm boot and freed up memory. 2.1 update 1 has been out for a while now.

    Just a crash and reboot. 2.1 update 1 is the version the Incredible and every Android 2.1 device is running.

    i have 2.2 running on my incredible. i got the download friday night and it is only beig pushed a limited number of people.
