LogMeIn Ignition, the mobile client for the popular LogMeIn remote access service, has made its official debut in the Android market. Available initially as a free beta, the full version was made available on Wednesday for a pricey $30. Similar to the iPhone version, LogMeIn Ignition for Android lets users control a remote Mac or PC, launch applications, and access files using your Android handset. Hit the read link for a QR code to scan and download the software to your Android handset.

Wish there was a trial vs dropping $30 for it. I use the free version to access my home pc remotely when needed, but I’d want to trial it before I spent that much on it.

Not sure how it would view my 1920×1650 dual screen desktop on my moto droid screen?

You should be able to uninstall it within 24 hrs for a fefund.
It will view it the same way you view webpages, with zooming.

^^^ or the fact that they can get it for free on a jailbroken ipod touch

    • Celz

you can get it free on android without jailbreaking…

AFAIK, the beta I have on my phone is still working…hmm.

I used the beta, if you haven’ t used the iPhone version the one for Android is very good, the one for the iPhone is a little smoother scrolling unless that’s what they have been fixing during the past month it’s been removed from the market. Now I can finally just leave my iPhone in the car as a ipod. This is the whole reason I got the EVO with the 4.3

  • Frank

Yup, that’s what they were doing, much smoother. My GOD the comments on their facebook page, Android people are a bunch of cheap bastards. If you’re not making money by using this app than maybe it’s not for you, This app didn’t make itself.

If you dont want to pay for logmein use tight vnc on your comp and vnc viewer its free and it works..

devs are still selling $10+ apps? lol

I have the iPhone version and if the Android version is of the same quality it would definitely be worth the $30.

It’s the most useful app I’ve ever purchased.

And for the people mentioning you can get it for free on a jailbroken iphone, etc… that would be called piracy. Stop being a criminal and support the developers you scum. A lot of work goes into software.

beta not working here. was nice while it lasted, will look into tight vnc that Celz suggested. I’d consider 10 bucks, but 30 is outrageous. 30 bucks for pdanet? Worth it. 30 bucks for slingplayer? worth it. Not for this, no way. Price elasticity is a concept unknown to some marketing managers.

meh, I’ll just use my RDP client instead, and connect directly to my computers.

$30 for a convenience application means it’s not likely to be a big seller. It might be worth it to some, but I doubt it for others.

With many of the smartphones available today, you can carry or access information easily enough that having full remote access to your PC is probably only necessary for a very small % of people.

Bet there’ll be some price-reduction specials if sales don’t start off high enough.

I have been testing this application for about 3 months and it is worth more than $30. If anyone needs details I will let you know how it works (features) and my experience with the beta. :)

    I’ve ever purchased.

    My beta is still working……..

  • colorado_al

Beta is good until 7/21. Then only the pro paid version will work. If you make your living supporting client PCs via remote, the $30 is well worth it.

I rarely support customers via mobile devices, so the $30 price is unacceptable…Furthermore, I feel that LogMeIn is the most expensive product for remote support. I use Techinline (www.techinline.com) which is literally a fraction of the price and has most of the core features that I need
