Mini-touchscreen component destined for an unknown Apple device surfaces

Tw.apple.pro published a series of photos of an unusual Apple-branded touchscreen component. The photos were obtained from a source presumably deep within one of Apple’s manufacturing partners. The part measures 3 cm x 3 cm and contains what appears to be a display connector and a touchpad connector. Speculation is running rampant as no one, including the source, knows what device (if any) may be the final home for this part. We have a few more close-ups after the jump for anyone interested in trying to solve this mystery.

So, a trackpad that is less than an inch and a quarter squared? That’s a rather small trackpad…

It looks like a one legged, one armed, mini robot flexing its only mini arm. But its muscle is drooping so he has to hang out at iPhone Weenie Hut Jr.

It’s a biometric zombie patch that will be attached to all apple fanboys & girls. Whenever Jobs needs some sort of new internal organ, the patches will be activated and determine if the wearer (i.e. sheep) is a suitable donor. If yes, the patch will activate zombie mode and the wearer will go into a trance-like state and immediately beat a path to a remote hospital in Tennessee. The donor will not recall anything. After the harvesting procedure, performed by a Foxconn staff surgeon, the donor will wake up in a hotel bathtub full of ice with a note, pinned to the mirror, that reads “CALL 911 !!!!”.

You seem to know an awful lot about a person that you clearly don’t have a positive opinion of. Do you know what I do with my time? Just about anything but read up on shit that I don’t like.

It was most likely a test panel for the retina display… thats why it was c2009. It was a probably a sample panel demonstrating the pixel density.

Could this possibly be the end of the scroll wheel on classic and nano ipods. that now they may just have a optical touch pad like a lot of the new android and blackberry’s?
