Last evening, Google announced that it was adding a oft-requested feature to its popular Gmail web-based email client: rich text signatures. As Google explains: “The next time you log in and visit the Settings page, you’ll see a rich text editor in the signature section. Here, you can customize your signature by adding pretty formatting, links, and images — or decide to leave things nice and simple. Gmail also now supports a unique signature for each email address associated with your account.” Gmail users, get to it…and do try to stay away from the Comic Sans please.

Welcome to the 2000′s GMail! Waaay late, but happy to have it.

I also have something like 25 possible sending addresses and I can have a separate signature for each, which is a nice addition.

If you upload a signature formatted with CSS somewhere and then copy and paste it from the web browser you can include CSS formatted signatures too.

Well it was about time Gmail implemented CSS signatures.

I use Gmail alot, especially for their spam filters, but so far I rather used IMAP redirects to Outlook so I can use diffrent profiles for my email accounts.

    Woot. <3 my Gmail.

But honestly, I save signatures for my work-related email account. I prefer my casual emails without.

Having the option is kinda nice though.

    Great Catch, Ace.

Finally, but it’s still incomplete. I’m not sure why Gmail only insists on letting us have 4 font sizes, or not being able to import an html signature from a file.

This is really nice feature added by Gmail team
Earlier I used to use Wisestamp which is a great addon for the same. Though I believe using different signature for multiple account is going to be super handy for many.
Have you used Wisestamp? Which one you would suggest/ WiseStamp or this official Gmail signature?

Well, one thing I’ve already noticed is that with Wisestamp, you have the option to only add a signature as you require it (I have them off by default, but add one as needed) – with Gmail, it just adds one and there’s no option to do on-demand. Maybe that matters to you, and maybe not, but it is something I noticed.

Okay, no comic sans, but I’m usin’ Giddayup! Oh shoot, it’s no longer on my computer. I guess I’m stuck with Akzidenz Grotesque.

Now they just need an option to let me block other people’s stupid rich text signatures.
