HTC Mozart and Mondrian to be Windows Phone 7 handsets

Rumor

htc-mondrian-xml-good

XML files with user agent profile information found on HTC’s website reveal that the HTC Mozart and the Mondrian will be Windows Phone 7 handsets. The XML files confirm much of what was rumored about the handsets including the presence of a 480×800 display, a keyboard-less slate form factor, Bluetooth with A2DP and various hands-free and headset profiles, along with (duh) Microsoft’s Internet Explorer Mobile 7. Obviously, XML files reveal cursory specs and not launch dates, but we can safely postulate that these handsets will launch later this year, most likely around the same time the HTC Shubert lands at T-Mobile.

The fact that they are making Windows 7 phones is APPLE’s fault!

Oh by the way, first. :-)

Thanks. You are a bit of a dick, but that’s ok. I appreciate the reply!!!!

all kiddin’ aside. I wonder how they decide what phones to build for what O/S. What kind of data do they use to make these decisions. For them it must be a pain in the ass being so fragmented. Next thing you know they will be building Symbian or the O/S announced by Intel/Nokia!

Windows mobile 7 ui looks like crap…in fairness I haven’t personally used it but it looks cumbersome, in-intuitive and poorly thought out. Why is it that user experience generally seems to be an after thought for M$. I guess I’m biased though I’ve never been a fan of M$ software it always seems to be rushed to market and plagued with bugs along with a poorly designed and clumsy UI that looks like a 5 year old thought it up. Just my 2 cents…

      Mike,
I think you are alone in your opinion on the UI. The general opinion from the tech pundits is that the UI is very intuitive and easy to use, so easy a 5 year old could use it.

The UI is focused around what you want to do or know, not around what app you have to run to find what you want.

I have been waiting for something truly different and capable for a long time and this is it.

The UI is based heavily on the ZuneHD’s interface, which is hardly cumbersome, unintuitive and poorly thought out.

Mike is right. They should call it Kin II.
