Hey Andrew, aren’t you supposed to be handling the iPhone 4 giveaway contest? Get to work man!

  • HunterA3

Tabs on top works on the debian version as well.

Downloaded and installed it, kinda buggy with rendering the browser with its icons way off. I had to go back to 3.6 within minutes. Will wait for it to get out of beta stage for me to re-install again.

I have been using firefox 4 for around 3-5 hours now and I find that it is faster than firefox 3.6 but its a few second (around 1 to 2) slower than Chrome. But since I am a big Firefox fan, I am glad they are catching up on Chrome. Ohh, I use it on Window 7 64bit professional edition and on a window XP professional. I haven’t try it on Linux platform yet.

  • Shelton

Its fast… but Im sticking to chrome.. oh and it fails acid 3 test.

97/100 and you can see “you should not see this” in red top left corner.

  • Apocalypse

    True Open Source.

All you sheep can stick to chrome. Baa Baa

  • Naes

They’re sheep because they use a faster browser? Apocalypse, that’s pretty dumb.

    • Apocalypse

Since you have no understanding what I’m posting about you should watch who you call dumb.

      • Shelton

Fine your not dumb, just a ignorant jackass? Open source has really helped firefox as its more secure… oh wait no its not. Well it doesnt crash, at least 4-5 crashes a month last time I used it. Well it has tabbed browsing, so does chrome, widgits, so does chrome.

Your the guy thats calling everyone sheep yet the only thing you’ve said that makes Firefox better is open source which in the real world means nothing. Show me advantages that are mensurable then we will talk.

        Your thats guy!!!!

There’s no excuse for Apocalypse being an ass, but I can provide one case where firefox demonstrates better performance than Chrome.

What Firefox brings, other than that, is the path they forged that allowed other browsers to make inroads past IE. if it wasn’t for their hard work, we’d still be using craptastic browsers with no standard support.

And when I mention security heres what Im talking about Pwn2own its a competition in which hackers take browsers and try to exploit venerabilities, chrome was the only browser that didn’t have any. When I mentioned open source sheep it seems like within the tech industry there are people who will only use open source, and feel anything else is inferior. this is not the case while some open source options are better. one must weigh all the options in order to get the best product and for you Apocalypse to try and ridicule people for doing so is pure ignorance and idiotic.

        Oh and heres my reference

    @apocalypse

That was a douchbag comment. People are testing it and making an educated decision. It’s buggy so people aren’t using it yet. That’s hardly being a sheep. I would say that using a beta that’s buggy just because it’s open source and you’ve used the previous version is “Baa Baa”

Excuse me but your ass is showing.

      • Apocalypse

Please stop looking at my Ass.

I think Shelton wants you to look at his Ass.

      • Shelton

Your a idiot. See 7.3, 7.5 and 6 for clarification. Jackass.

  • Darnell

    Cool beans.

  • phuzzykiller

Well, despite all the flaming going on (it’s starting to feel like the pride parade around here), I’ll be sticking to whatever browser works best for me until Firefox comes out with a stable build. I’ve been using it since it first came out and love it, but that doesn’t mean that I’ll use something that doesn’t work properly.

Keep up with the comments guys…. this does make for an entertaining read at the end of the day…..
