HTC sees profits jump 33%, revenue 58% year-over-year

The WSJ is reporting that Taiwanese handset maker HTC saw Q2 unaudited net profits rise 33% in 2010. Some key metrics from HTC’s Q2 include: $268 million in unedited profit, earnings of $0.37/share, and revenue growth of 58% (beating out HTC’s April forecast of 50% growth). Yuanta Securities analyst, Bonnie Chang, predicts that HTC will ship over 20 million handsets this year, up from 12 million in 2009. All-in-all a very impressive Q2 for HTC.

      Almost any Apple laptop from the past 4 years used LCDs from Samsung, LG Philips, Chi Mei, and AU Optronics.Some of these like the B154PW04 V.6 or LP154WP2-TLA1 are used in no other machine BUT the Apple laptops they are made for.

      Developing their own LCD technology isn’t the key, the key is to buy from numerous different manufacturers. This way, when one has a shortage(which happens more often than you might think), you are not shit out of luck.

    HTC should thank Google for Android flatform which greatly helped smartphone business while WM is declining.

      True, but HTC is the handset maker that risked moving to Android when the OS was hardly ready for Prime Time and carrier skepticism was a big issue.

    I love HTC hardware but when windows phone 7 comes out, it will push more sales for them just as android help them. :) And the best part is I can hold my phone in any hand and dont lose signal at all lol.

      seriously? i thought there were more then enough phone OS as it is, i was even thinking samsung making it’s own OS(Bata), was a mistake.

    Maybe now they can hire somebody to get HTC mail to work sending mail over Wi-Fi or with self signed SSL certificates on SMTP servers.
