CDMA BlackBerry Curve 9300 crosses FCC's desk

It looks like the FCC has just released the approval documents for the next iteration of the BlackBerry Curve, the 9300. Packing a CDMA radio, the 9300 looks to be the heir apparent to the Curve 2 (8530) that resides on a plethora of CDMA carriers here in the States. From the FCC filing we can see that the new Curve will have Wi-Fi, Bluetooth, and the AWS 3G band used by some smaller carriers (Cricket, MetroPCS, etc.). The newish device looks to be the next incremental step in the 8300/8500 line, although…what we really want to see is a BlackBerry OS 6 device!

    WTF happened? I was a fan and user for three years. I defended you when my ifriends laughed at my 8703/Curve/Tour. But You let the competition pass you up. You were the company to beat, but, within 3 years, Apple and Android have been able to successfully topple you. You may still have the biggest market share, but you’re losing your grip and will soon be second…then third. You’re a great tool for businesses (if they have BES) but you tried to market yourself to the average consumer and sell them on your very limited UI. And Lost. I have an EVO now…and im sorry to say, I probably wont be coming back. But you keep on reinventing that Curve of yours. Im sure we’re not sick of the same old thing just yet.

    Every day that I don’t hear anything official about the 9800 I look more and more into getting one of the “other” smart phones that are available.

    This doesn’t help me want to get rid of my BOLD for another BB. Maybe it would have 3 years ago…
