The folks at Colorware have added the latest Xbox 360 S to their impressive repertoire of custom-colored electronics. The new slim and sleek Xbox 360 S can be painted in your choice of 46 custom colors for $175 if you already own the gaming console, or for a reasonable $500 if you buy the system with a custom paint job directly from Colorware. We’ve been impressed with Colorware’s work in the past and highly recommend the service if you want something more than drab black for one of the hubs of your home entertainment system and don’t mind the cost.

I like Colorware, but those colors in the photo just don’t work together.

Yea, that’s an ugly combination. I think the original color is good. It’s metallic shine is awesome !

Giveaway for loyal BGR readers perhaps?

I’m not following this… the new system costs ~$300… plus $175 for paint equals $475. Where is the bargain in purchasing the system and paint job at the same time for $500?

Maybe shipping costs? Not totally sure but that’s kind of what I was thinking…

Colorware is awesome – I love the idea and I really want to get some of my gadgets colored by them. I only wish there were other companies like this to compete with them to bring the price down. Its so expensive :(

that’s not really a device I could afford to lose my warranty on.

Why does it cost the same amount of money to color an xbox as an iphone when the xbox is clearly much bigger? Maybe if they halved the price then it would be a more viable option

  • wtf*

Can’t see paying that price , airbrush, auto paint easy and better colors than those

I don’t know, I like my Xbox 360 in its plain state. I’m a minimalist eh. Thanks for sharing though!

what i’m curious about is whether this voids the warranty… if i bought a system direct from colorware, what does the 1yr warranty cover? red rings? i’m pretty sure painting the system voids the Microsoft warranty…
