DROID Incredible to receive 720p recording and mobile hotspot app in future update?

A rumor fresh out of Droid-Life suggests that Verizon Wireless has an update slated for the DROID Incredible that will add 720p video recording and mobile hotspot functionality to the Android handset. As an added bonus, the update reportedly includes the signature DROID red eye boot animation which adds some eye candy (pun intended) to the handset. These two enhancements, and the extra bling, will narrow the gap between the Incredible and the DROID X, making your Android handset buying decision that much more difficult. No word on when the update will drop, but HTC would be wise to push Verizon to release it prior to July 15th. DROIIIIIID!

    I’m not eligible for upgrade from my Eris until early September. They had better have the Incredible in stock by then, or else I’m going to be seriously tempted to buy the Droid X instead. I really don’t want to, because it lacks Sense UI, and I just don’t like Motorola designs in general, and the screen is just a bit too big for my tastes, but I’m getting very tired of the VERY weak 528 MHz Qualcomm chip driving my Eris. Actually, it doesn’t so much “drive” it as it does drag it along through a mud hole (i.e. slow, and gets stuck sometimes). One way or another, I WILL have a 1GHz chip in my pocket before the end of the year.
