Android 2.2 test build for Motorola DROID leaks out

Software

droid-froyo

This isn’t the first time that Android 2.2 has been made available to adventurous DROID owners, but it is the latest, and therefore, to many, it is the greatest. Based upon a test build recently dished out to some lucky DROID users, a new ROM leaked by MyDroidWorld includes root access and a customized kernel. Getting the ROM up and running is simple enough and shouldn’t prove to be difficult, although we’d advise anyone who doesn’t fully understand what they’re doing (or are above begging for help on forums) to stay clear of this until everything is official. If you do try it out, you’ll let your pals at BGR know how it works, right?

I am hopeful 2.2 will fix the muffled voice caused by the noise-canceling microphone. Been dealing with this issue since March.

this report is inaccurate, this is not a test build, it is the release build, look in your build.prop for proof.

Works great. Seems to be better than the last few releases. Can’t wait for the official release…rooted of course.

  • Jay

After I reset my phone it’s been working fine. I’ll probably just keep this version so i don’t lose root access*

  • Mike

    This requires root, correct?

The FRF84B does not have the 3D scrolling program screen. It was also slow. Try the FRF57.
