Android 2.2 gets official for the Nexus One

Sexy Nexy owners rejoice, as Google has officially announced the availability of Android 2.2 (a.k.a. Froyo) via an over-the-air download. Google had the following to say:

In order to access the update, you will receive a message on your phone’s notification bar. Just download the update, wait for it to install, and you should be all set. This update will be rolled out gradually to phones – and most users will receive the notification by the end of the week . We hope you enjoy these new features.

    I’m still on the FRF50 build of froyo, I’m really in no rush for the official one since this build hasn’t given me problems, I just hope the official version hits my nexus soon. :)

    Manually updated mine….works great..forget waiting .it was like I was a kid again waiting for Christmas geez…..

    I am so tired of hearing about everyone and their manual downloads… a lot of Nexus One’s are not able to do so (I have followed ALL of the directions to a T to no avail) I just want the OTA update I’m sick of waiting!!

      that’s really hard to believe. i’ve owned two completely difference N1′s. i rooted the first. and i’ve updated about 3 separate times manually with the leaked builds on my non-rooted, second Nexus. none of it gave me any problems. i was just confused at FIRST..they’re meant to mess around with like computers!

        I have the same issue that Idiot has. I have tried everything and I can’t get the manual update on my N1. I even had a buddy of mine that manually updated his try to update mine. Needless to say i’m still on 2.1-update1.

        I want my FROYO!!!

    I am sick of waiting, I am sick of checking the update screen every fucking second. Just fucking inject me with the update, right in to my fucking vanes, I want to be one with the update. I want to fuck the update and have android kids. send me the the fucking update!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    I am on AT&,T located in the OC and I got it about an hour ago. So far it all seems sweet!

    Installed Flash 10.1 beta. Free Hulu doesn’t work. CBS.com says, “Sorry, This phone does not support streaming video.” So what is the point of flash?

    I don’t like the new update on my N1 it actually made my phone slower my text messages take forever to show forever to send…. Google better fix the problem..
