Radio Shack extends iPhone 4 promotions; promises more handsets this weekend

Folks who pre-ordered an iPhone 4 from Radio Shack may still be feeling the sting of not getting an iPhone after a less-than-expected number of handsets were available. Radio Shack reached out to let us know that it is extending its iPhone 4 launch promotions for an additional month to make up for this disappointment. From now until July 25th, any customer purchasing an iPhone 4 will receive a $20 accessory credit and can participate in the Trade & Save promotion. Trade & Save allows you to trade in an iPhone 3G for a $100 credit or a 3GS for a $200 credit that can be used towards the purchase of an iPhone 4. Lastly, the Shack is also extending its promotional iPhone 4 accessory bundles that contain anything and everything you may need for your new handset. The best news of all, though, is the assurance from Radio Shack that its supply of the iPhone 4 will be replenished as early as this weekend and will continue to be replenished throughout the month of July.

Promise me the others wont have issues

    • William Joseph Smith III

The issues are with the systems being loaded from so many users as well as people not reading the manual about new features. If the phone is having issues, check your state laws about trading it for a working unit. California gives you 30 days.

Does anyone know if you can pre-order the white? And does your 32Gb 3GS have to be in excellent condition to fetch $200?

    • Martin

yes it has to be in working order with no water damage in order for it to be traded in.

      • William Joseph Smith III

No it does not. It can be traded in in any condition. You will just receive less and less money for each fault. Thank you from RadioShack.

    • William Joseph Smith III

RadioShack does not take pre-orders for any iphones at this or any time ( we were taking “customer product requests” – nor is this statement true. I am an employee and no statement has been released about this. Please call your local store for details.

    • William Joseph Smith III

Excellent condition, no cracks or heavy scratches, without the water detection tripped, and with the original charger, passwords and information removed.

Keep in mind the amount for trade in will change and possibly go down from day to day.

      This is information from RadioShack.

    • William Joseph Smith III

Call your local store to see if you can make a customer product request. RadioShack did not take “pre-orders” for the iphone 4. At this timewe have no future oder information – this site is providing false information.

Does it also come with a bumper so we can make a phone call?

    • joe

this has actually been shown to very likely be a software issue.

      “I’m Rick James B**ch”

      • bob

        yea right

      • Ethan

of yeah because a phone’s software can tell when you are holding the side of your phone. *Facepalm* I didn’t know we were making self-aware phones… Face it it’s a flaw in the design, the more you avoid it the more Apple will continue to not make it right.

      • Bikr

Most phones have the same issues.. Why do people insist on holding the phone like an asshole anyway? Hold it normal and natural and it works fine.. They’ve proved other phones have this same issue..

  • sean76

Would never use them again after dealing with there BS with the EVO.

    • wild homes

What kinds of problems did you have getting an Evo from them? Just curious, really… I got mine with them and didn’t have any problems at all (beyond a two-day delay because of a warehouse issue, which isn’t the end of the world). Was I just lucky?

      • William Joseph Smith III

No – the issue was not normal. I work for them and if you got a mean customer who has no patience or an associate who did know what the hell he was doing, then there would be problems (@sean76) – - – the process went down without a hitch for most.

Excellent; now if AT&T can ship their 32GB iPhones that were pre-ordered on 6/15 (or at least offer an ETA) I would be very happy…

  • mpowerd

I actually “reserved” a 32gb white model from my local radio shack yesterday. The store manager promised they would honor the trade in deal no matter when they received the white model. Nice to see this official confirmation. And yes, ur 3GS has to be in excellent condition.

    • William Joseph Smith III

We always take trade ins, the amount can not be promised though. Be careful. Please call in occasionally and check the amount as it is likely to go down.

They seem to have the best promotion if your looking to get something back for your old phone and not have to go through the hassle of ebay

  • wild homes

I didn’t realise they were running this promotion. That’s a really, really excellent deal. Are any other stores pulling anything close to this offer?

    • William Joseph Smith III

Keep in mind that you also get free accessories! Call your local store regarding the accessories credit you get with your purchase!

I firmly believe in the “do no evil” principle so when I see the meglomaniac from cupertino violating the first amendment, I am uncomfortable with his products.

When countries of the past acted in the way Apple is today, our fore-fathers went to war and defeated them.

What are we doing? We are dazzled and entertained so we give constitution violators a free pass.

Our grand fathers would be ashamed of us.

Do you have to be signing up for a 2-year agreement to get a discount on the phone with your trade-in? I have 1 year left on my iPhone 3G contract so I’m not eligable for the discounted upgrade.

    • William Joseph Smith III

You should go to the local store and allow them to check for you. You can trade in at any time and also AT & T prorates your termination fee.

if you want the new iPhone from Radioshack you have to be eligible to upgrade or new activation. But you can trade in your older iPhone at anytime(of course thru the July 25th )to trade in your iPhone if you just want to, $100 for any size 3g and $200 for any size 3gs, but if you are not upgrading, it might just leave you without a phone. lol

Just got back from a radio shack that my friend is a manager for. Showed me in the computer that only 4 radio shacks in the south florida market will be getting the new i phone 4 in which will be next thurs. It only the 16g too. The 32s will not be ready till 2 weeks from now. Wheres the loving

  • robert

oh, those stores r only getting 2 per store

    • William Joseph Smith III

Untrue -it varies from store to store. My store got none and others got 8. It depends on several factors.

      • robert

r u in the south florida market like miami, hollywood fort lauderdale?

  • http://Www.twitter.com/vincentscar28 Vince

I filed a complaint on the radio shack website yesterday. And this morning a radio shack rep. Called me and heard my story and told me “vince I promise I will get you your iPhone” he said 4 were going to downtown Chicago radioshacks all 16gb. I told him I’ll wait for a 32gb he said it’s week to week, but I’ll be one of the first to get it off the 32gb shipment.

    • Danielle Sirekis

I’m first on the list first to “request” as you say RadioShack worker…with a pin (that took an hour and a Half and 183 tries through there system NOT JOKING)! I was going to pre-order mine through Apple, but the people at RadioShack assured me that they would get one for me on launch. Well here I am iPhoneless because I sold my 3g 16gb(for $265) two weeks ago. I understand that Apple didn’t supply RadioShack with enough iPhones but if I had pre-ordered through Apple, I can promise you I would have it in my Hand right now because I would have went and stood in line with my friends when they got theirs!

That being said I got a call from RadioShack about ten minutes ago telling me they are getting a 16gb in tomorrow if I want it. It’s the only one their store is getting in and they have no idea when the next shipment comes in. I said No thanks cuz I ordered the 32 gb….I will NEVER order from an outside company again! So that being said I don’t blame RadioShack, I will just be ordering from Apple directly!

  • SFJ

They can promise all they want, but as was seen this last week, promises regarding this phone dont mean a whole lot….Good luck Shack..

  • moestepp

SHOULD OF BEEN A BLACKBERRY :)

  • Petey

Dude! The guys at my RS had No idea when they would get a shipment, I was the first one at the store to place my order.

  • Scott

They say their getting more phones by this weekend, so does that mean they have them at the stores today or like tommrrow, i really want to get one badddddd!

  • Kimi

Where are all these iphone 4 units that are supposed to be replenished this weekend? As of today, 1 store I called got 2 in and of course they went right away and the other 4 I called got none and had no idea when they were going to get more. 2 iphones does not sound like replenishing to me and don’t you have to have some phones in stock first in order to replenish them?
