Looks good! I’m glad there are so many choices for Android. Bravo to Google and all the carriers that have Android.

  • NairRo

I never sign 2 year contracts wit VZW….Everyone just pay the extra 50-70 bucks trust me you won’t regret it..I bought the Eris in Nov of 2009.. I’m in perfect position for the new stuff…

    • Joe B.

The problem is it’s not an extra 50-70 bux it’s usually closer to a $125-$150 difference. And as long as your on a plan worth 59.99 or more you get to upgrade every year anyway so the one year contracts are a joke.

hmm.. that bump will not sit well with the other bump in my pocket.

I really like the feature set of this phone, but Blur kills it for me. I’ll probably just wait for the Droid 2.

There’s something that annoys me about custom UI’s For one, they’re unnecessary and on top of that you have to wait until the manufacturer retools them to work with the latest Android updates (thus delaying you getting said updates).

If there were a way to yank Blur off it and rock with vanilla Froyo, I’d be all for it.

    • Randall Lowe

Supposedly, Blur can be turned off and it’s more of a Blur lite anyways.

  • NairRo

    @ Joe Thanks .. was unaware…

Looks like a snazzy phone, but a little too big for me. Definitely nice specs though.

There will be at least 12 android phones coming out in a year that will be top of the line. Getting one now means you’ll want the next one a month from now and its never ending.Different manufacturers and OS versions is the main reason it’s hard to topple the iPhone.

    Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).

    • Joshie

It’s likely that Android will surpass iOS on phones (one report says it has, but I’m skeptical of it). But I don’t think any one Android handset will “topple” the iPhone. Because there are so many Android phones coming out, no one phone will stay the “new hotness” long enough to come close to iPhone’s share.

    • destardi

Th iPphone is the new “Razr”. It’s the new “PT Cruiser”.

But anyways, we’ll see. More choice=win for the consumer. I don’t think the iPhone needs to be toppled; it’ll take care of that all by itself.

As long as I have Android, I couldn’t care less about iOS 4.

      • Blog Retards 4 Life

Yes, clearly you know a ton of what you speak. iPhone is definitely very much like the RZR, if by that you mean best selling mobile phone of all time. Other than that, you are a retard like your friends in here.

Truth is, you probably don’t use 15% of the OS, you just get a boner off the cliche “anti-iPhone” approach. This phone will sell 10% of what iPhone sells.

        Go do your mom’s laundry.

      • KillaPenguin

You are right and wrong. This phone will sell 10% of what the iPhone will sell, but Android will far outsell iOS. 160,000 activations a day and accelerating. That equates to 58,400,000 a year, assuming it doesn’t continue to accelerate at an exponential pace, which it will.

People, If you are worried about a new phone coming out with better specs than the Evo, Moto X, Droid 2, Incredible, Galaxy, Don’t. Even with the rumor/promise of a 2ghz Moto, These ARE the phones of the year. Nothing better coming down the pipe anytime soon. Thats what my magic 8 ball app told me on my Moto Droid. Relax it’s gonna be ok. Don’t get so upset because you have choices, at least Android offers choices.

      You are a clown.

I think the name says it all. NOW SHUT UP BLOG RETARD you cuntbag.

Looks very sexy, but since I’m living in Chicago and having access to 4G, as well as a 25% discount on Sprint, I think I’ll pass up on the Droid X and get the EVO. You can’t beat unlimited everything for 59.99! The battery life may be sub-par, but you can buy upgraded batteries at 1700 mAh that I believe have no size increase, as well as other higher mAh batteries that do have a slight size increase. And Sprint TV is pretty sick, too. Also the choppiness of the EVO video recording has something to due with the an older codec, which I believe sprint did to cut costs to avoid licensing and having to pay an extra fee per phone. Hopefully in upgraded versions of Android this will not be a problem, or the end user can purchase the codec for around $20.

    • Ravage

      Sprint unlimited everything plan

      $99.99 per month + $10.00 per month for 4g

      = $109.00 per month

Maybe your talking about the unlimited data plan with 450 minutes. Thats $69.99 per month plus $10.00 ($79.99)

      • jawman

        @Ravage
The Sprint 69.99 unlimited plan is basically unlimited everything. The 450 minutes is towards landlines, because you get unlimited calling to any mobile, any network. I rarely ever call a landline and will never go over 450 minutes, so it’s basically a true unlimted for me. I get a 25% discount, so that 79.99 works out to 59.99, for practically unlimited everything. Can’t beat it!!

  • Miguel

would the htc incredible price drop because of this?
clearly it isn’t the same value as the droid x…

  • DroidSucks

That is one big ugly cheapo lookin phone!

    • Ravage

Moto makes shit looking phones. Anyone who says the original Droid or Droid X looks sexy is a fucking liar.

HTC and Apple make the best ‘looking’ phones around. And for the money ill take HTC sense over motoblur any day.

  • Ravage

Having said that, your name ‘droidsucks’ pretty much makes anything you say retarded.

    The more you know

  • http://BoyGeniusReport MSalaz87

so the other carriers are trying to come out with androids to compete with the EVO the Droid X looks pretty cool but the mobile hot spot on it can only connect 5 wifi enabled device with a 2gb cap! the EVO you have the option for 3g and 4g hotspot you can connect 8 devices and theres no cap its unlimited 3g and 4g on the EVO you got the front facing camera as well as an 8mp camera with a dual led flash and the Droid X has an 8mp camera with a dual flash…its going to be a good summer with the EVO Droid X and the iPhone 4 but I think the success is going to be between the EVO and the iPhone 4
