Breaking

droid-x-commercial

Remember those leaked scripts for the Droid X commercial? Well Big Red has just posted a portion of one of them to its YouTube channel. Being a teaser, it doens’t really give us any information, though it does indicate the handset will be launching in July. You know, just like we said. We cannot wait to hit up the VZW/Motorola event this Wednesday to (hopefully) get all of the details. Hit the jump to check out the ad!

      • Jarrett

Or even need two mouse buttons.

      • Niceshotman

Same with your iPhone – One button on the front for the Easily confused.

    • Marc

The Droid and Droid X are two different phones….not really sure how you could confuse them….

      • Bard

I has to be the naming convention, i bet.

    • tattoopunk

Hmmm… didn’t the first 3 iphones look pretty much the same?

@Jarrett u just made me piss my pants lol..

    • Ernie

Isn’t he funny? Pisses me off every now and then, but he’s funny and sort of insightful!

      • Jarrett

        @ Ernie,

If I ever piss you off I apologize. Honestly all I try to do is make people laugh. Not sure I have ever posted anything that wasn’t based in fact. So if you were honestly pissed at me hopefully it was the “facts” and not something you think I made up.

        Cheers

      • Antonio

Well said.. When I read comments I want to be informed and/or entertained. ALL CAPS yelling and “fanboyism” is neither insightful or funny, unless they say something stupid.

  • http://CastroStPits.com ROBERT

So is this guy/girl In the commercial suppose to watching PORN??? or is he waiting for his browser to load the web???

    • wanderer

It looks like this person is waiting for the web pages to load…terminator style. Could be Skynet in the making and eventually take over humanity….lol.

      • http://castrostpits.com Robert Martinez

OR MAYBE THEY ARE TRYING TO HYPE SOMETHING UP THAT IS EXACTLY THE SAME LOL… oooor stay with me here, they are trying to show you how stupid you look waiting for your page to load lmao

      • Rob D.

I think you are confusing the Droid X for the Droid 2. Please try and be more knowledgeable before posting your drabble.

  • http://www.buzzmmc.com Jeff

It may give more information than we think. I am trying to see what the words that are reflected in the eye say. Not sure if anyone pays attention to this stuff but me, but in Modern Warfares trailer Infinity Ward left tons of clues as to the perks, etc. Maybe Verizon is doing the same thing here. There are clearly words being displayed, but it is tough to see what they say…

    • Kevin

I think he is just like multitasking to the max!

  • Solrydr

One flash of the words reflecting on the eye in the trailer say ” DROID ENDING” backwards.

    • acquaz10

it says @droidlanding. look it up on twitter :)

    • adthom1

      It says, in this order:
      @DroidLanding
      4.3″ WVGA Screen
      HDMI Output
      8MP Camera

  • Eddie

Damn jarret is so far up Steve jobs ass its unbelievable. Give up dude, not everyone likes the iPhone. And its not the best smartphone, many phones now are a lot better

    • Theodore Donald ‘Donny’ Kerabatsos

Careful, that comment may have caused 50 more apple defense posts by Jarret saying the same thing and saying thats not what he is saying and saying it.

      • Jarrett

Not sure exactly what any of that means. I agree that there are phones that do more. For instance, if you want a phone that has 3G issues you would obviously get the Nexus One. Note on that phone though that Google gave up selling the just three months after launch. If you want a phone with Wifi problems and with an unintended screen detachment feature, you would want to purchase the HTC EVO. Sprint activated a whopping 65,000 in the first three days.

So yes, there are phones out there that do different things than the iPhone does. I agree.

      • Walter

Explain to me why i haven’t had a problem with my Evo 4G then? and why i have better 3G coverage then you? iPhone is gay.. fanboys need to leave..

      • Jarrett

        @ Walter,

If you have better 3G coverage than my original iPhone then congrats is in order, I guess. That being said I would have thought you would be bragging about how much better your 4G signal is than that of my 2G iPhone. If you haven’t had any problems with your EVO great, many more have and it is the reason HTC and Sprint are looking at a recall to fix the screen issues. Also, I was unaware that my phone had a sexual orientation.

      • T

The Nexus One is still for sale… just FYI. Google is just not going to use the web-only model for future phones they sell directly…

I guess though, that if you want an operating system that is full of bugs and downright broken, you can get an iPhone… I mean, it must really suck to wait for so long to get MMS messaging, only to have it not work again such a short time afterwards…

  • Swagger

Enjoy the X,it looks like a great phone. The problem is that since it is with Verizon it will be obsolete in six weeks when the next Droid (not the Droid 2) is released. Buy a phone and stick with it.

    • Rob D.

I agree. There will always be buyers remorse. No matter who you go with. Verizon is the king of it. But it’s hardly a bad thing to give the consumers variety.

I broke down and ordered the Incredible a few weeks ago because I was tired of waiting for it to come in stock. Then I get wind of the Droid X and now I’m wishing I would have waited because the phone I really wanted was the Evo. But I’m on Verizon. So I have to wait for my phone to get here and then trade it for the Droid X.

Then when fall comes around. There is rumored to be some kind of super phone from Motorola. Which I’m sure will give me some buyers remorse. However I know that I will be happy with the Droid X, And then in 2 years I can get the latest and greatest then. With whatever new features they are coming out with.

      • http://castrostpits.com Robert Martinez

its coo there are 60 more droid phones that do the same thing, or you can just wait 6more months and there will be another iphone killer on the way…

      • me

Robert, why do you choose to be ignorant? Are you seeking a negative response from people? It doesn’t take much more effort than a simple google search to see the difference amongst android phones. Although they generally have the same software (although there is variance in what each phone is running, from 1.5-2.2), hardware has been drastically increasing in speed as time passed. The software in 2.2 is also dramatically faster and better than any previous version, check out some benchmarks.

Lastly, the Droid X is multiple times faster than the Droid. The Droid X, aka the Motorola shadow, is almost as fast as the 2.2 Nexus One while only running 2.1. If you notice the large performance increase from 2.1 to 2.2 on the Nexus One, you can only expect the Droid X to blow it out of the water on 2.2.

      • me

here’s the benchmark, if you’re even interested beyond your fanboyism.

As a Android user. I have to say that you guys beating on the “EVERY Blackberry is the same drum” should step back and look in the Mirror… the Droid X is nothing more than a Droid that has been upgraded. just like the 9700 is an upgrade of the 9000, the 85xx of the 83xx and the 9550 of the 9500…..

Seems like the pot is calling the kettle black to me.

Oh well i’l keep enjoying my MyTouch3G and wait for a new break through Android…. even though i don’t see it happening….

    • me

The Droid X doesn’t even have the same shape as the Droid at all. It’s touch screen only and has a much larger screen. The Droid 2 is nothing more than a Droid that has been upgraded. Not sure if you recognize that they are two separate phones.

  • the prophet muhammad

EVERYONE MUST BY THIS PHONE AND PRAY TO IT .

  • Matt

Jarrett- So whats the weather like up Steve’s ass?

  • Kenny

Look at the flickering date at the very end…. http://briefmobile.com/droid-x-release-set-for-july-2nd
Does that mean July 2nd release???

    • Rob D.

No, it say 07,2010. What you see in that picture is just that date distorted.

  • Shumdit

The droid 2 looks like a milady updated droid, but the droid x looks much more interesting. I really do not care as much for the android os, or should I say I prefer apple’s os over the android os at the moment. I have heard 2.2 is a big improvement, but ios4 from apple is supposed to be also. It seems like buying a phone is like buying a computer- buy it now and watch it be outdated in 6 months! I tried android and may come back, but I think apple has my business for the time being. That said, I am not slamming the android lovers for their choice since it does have a few features apple does not and I hope the competition will lead to apple adding them. If not maybe google will better polish their os to make it work as well as apple’s does (My opinion only)

Not impressed by the phone at all. If I were on Verizon I would possibly be looking at it but as I was a long time ago, I wasn’t interested as the phones suck on the big V. They are getting better but still not a great phone in my eyes.

  • Ashley

I currently have th Evo, it had to be replaced already because of screen coming up. Now my service with sprint isn’t what I hoped for. I’m seriously considering returning it and getting the droid x. I hope there is some kind of pre order so I can actually have it. I will just miss the sense UI. I just think verizon is the way to go. Everyonei know who has them has pretty good service…
