fifty bucks for existing customers. sucks…

  • Bigfish

Operation hold on to customers. Prices will go back up once the iPhone4 buzz dies down. On that note I can’t wait to get my 4.0 on, on the 24th 

    • Tazcfe

4.0 is out the 21 monday morning

    Cue Jarret
“You see, this is why android is gaining mkt share, iphone was never a penny, And did I mention its only on one carrier, even though its actually on 80″

    • Jarrett

Actually I have never said anything even close to either. I think you are confusing my statements with others. I have always stated that iPhone is on close to 100 carriers (not 80) and will be on 120+ come October of this year. I don’t worry about what Android is doing because research shows that it isn’t doing much. Android is on 60+ devices and they still don’t ship as many phones as Apple does with one device. Trust me, I am the first person to argue why Android should be the leading mobile platform on the planet. That being said, it is why I don’t worry about Android because with all the devices out there it still isn’t the the number one shipping platform.

You will never hear me worrying about the second best mobile environment. It would be equivalent to me worrying about the second best desktop platform. I only worry about using what works for me and if everyone would do the same we wouldn’t have dumb comment on the internet. Your platform isn’t the best at anything, if you like your second tier platform great, enjoy but don’t be pissed at being number 2, someone has to be number two and someone has to be number 1.

  • ron

I’ll buy an iPhone. I always try to get the best. Second best is second best – unless it’s tenth best.

  • Jack

Practically begging people to buy their phones. LOL.

    • Jarrett

If you can’t sell ‘em what else do you do? If someone has to give me something to use because I won’t buy chances are they know I won’t like it or they think I have low expectations anyway. To all Fathers that got one of these free phones today, your wife hates you (and is probably having sex with your brother) and your kids hate you even more than you thought they did. HAPPY FATHERS DAY!!!!

PS, I know my kids love me because they didn’t get me FREE anything.

  • wanderer

Some of these phones were suppose to be Iphone killers too, now its practically being given away. Just goes to show you…….oh well, why don’t you fill in the blank. I’m betting a fandroid will have a trashy comment here.

    • fandroid

Not sure what you’re trying to imply… That stuff has to be expensive to be good?

      • Jarrett

        @ Fandroid,

No it doesn’t have to be expensive to be good. The only thing that proves a products worth is the numbers it sells. When a product sells well it means people are finding uses for it.

      • fandroid

Agreed. Still not sure exactly what you’re trying to say… These phones have sold in great numbers. I have one of these phones and enjoy it much more than the iPhone I had. But it’s a matter of personal preference, eh?

      • Jarrett

        @fanfroid,

You never had an iPhone. Be happy with your platform already.

      • B

Don’t kid yourself. People will buy something because it’s popular and they want to be a part of the in crowd. Of course that doesn’t make up the entire community, but don’t act like you don’t know how society and the consumer industry works.

  • http://www.Free-Amazon-Cash.co.uk David Hine

Does it mean you buy for a penny and then put any SIM card into it?

  • http://rebel2society.blogspot.com rebel2society

I’m curious about this as well. What are the stipulations for this deal?

    • RJB

The stipulation is you will have one of the above phones.

  • Terry

the nuron, sony equinox, and gravity 2 are always free at Radioshack anyways.

  • davesmall

Why not give these away for a penny? The alternative is the trash heap.

    • Danny

That’s a pretty stupid thing to say.

But I forget that I’m probably arguing with some AT&T kiosk worker who still lives with his mom…..

      • B

Ah yes, that was a much smarter thing to say.

      • RoBoBear

All of you shut the fu*k up! You’re giving me a headache! Unless you have something relevant to post, don’t…go to 4chan for that stuff…

  • Danny

Amazon usually gives phones practically all away free anyways or at least at great prices.

I think Amazon like Radio Shack is trying to ride the wave of momentum right now by advertising it.

    Win win for customers regardless!

  • jawman

This reminds me of the saying “you get what you pay for.”

    • Danny

So if AT&T charges practically identical costs to customers on a monthly basis as Verizon does does it mean AT&T’s product is just as good?

By your reasoning it would be but many would argue that it isn’t.

Some of those in our geek community got it all backwards. Instead of championing good deals when we see them some of you foolishly promote company’s that charge higher fees and offer less freedom.

      • gee

        well said danny

    • Dave

I agree with Danny. Also I would note, in a world where costs are almost identical what incentive do I have to change carriers? Well it comes down to phones and if I already like mine, what then?

The barrier to changing carriers is not large but there’s not always an incentive to accept the costs either. Its a great deal and its meant to draw people in who normally wouldn’t switch carriers. Win-win for phone users?

  • Qeuestioning

Can I buy one of these and cancel the service and still only pay $200 ETF???

  • jonathan

I always take everyone who claims having had an iPhone or even 3 iPhones that switch to something else (droid, or etc. ) with a grain of salt sort of speak. People I know with iPhones love their iPhones and I’m puzzled as to why does it take someone all generations of iPhones before realizing they hate it.

    Posted from BGR Mobile (iPhone).

  • Not Me

“No it doesn’t have to be expensive to be good. The only thing that proves a products worth is the numbers it sells. When a product sells well it means people are finding uses for it.”

Hmm, like the pet rock and parachute pants? Or how about Vanilla Ice’s platinum selling record? STFU fag.

  • DK

Jarrett- sounds like the world revolves around you. Obviously your a Apple fanboy, whatever. Who did Steve Jobs target 3 weeks ago??

Have any idea? He’s not worried about the one with the largest handset marketshare RIM.. he’s worried about one of the smallest, Android.

So have fun with your inferior iPhone.

  • Bada$$

RoRo, we dont have to tell you where to go looser!!!

    • RoBoBear

You probably meant RoBo…re-read your posting before hitting submit…loser.
