300+Mb for that list? Since 10.6 has come out, I believe they are well over 1gb in updates without very much in the way of visible changes. Should they not have started calling this 10.7.x by now?

My update is 961 MB. Fun stuff!

Upgrades Apple mail to 4.3 (1081) breaking Growlmail 1.2.1. Otherwise seems OK

It seems, so far, to have fixed the issue from 10.6.3 that logs you out of websites very prematurely. I should know for sure either later this evening or by tomorrow morning. I hope so. I don’t feel like going back to 10.6.2 again.

I was wondering about that. That shit gets on my nerves so it would be nice to see it fixed!

My update was just over 315 MB. Why are the updates varied. My update is for a MacBook Pro 13″.

FYI and To Whom It May Be Useful (TWIMBU)

Mac OS X 10.6.4 has a single update to its OpenGL feature set.

Under OpenGL 3.1 the GL_ARB_depth_buffer_float item is now supported under 10.6.4. This increases the 3.0 level of support from 91% – 21/23 to 95% 22/23. only the Shading language version: 1.30 is lacking for completion of 3.0.

Now, before I present the test results, remember I am just a user, so these are not pristine comparisons. I did the 10.6.3 tests on one partition and the 10.6.4 on another. There may have been a difference in what processes were running. All these tests were run on an Early 2008 15″ 2.5GHz Macbook Pro with 6GB RAm and a 640GB WD hard drive as well as 7200 rpm Firewire 800 drive attached. That being said, here are the results:

    10.6.3

    Test# ….. 10.6.3 fps …. 10.6.4 fps .. % change
    ==== .. ====== … ====== .. ======
    1.1 ………… 1501 ………… 1250 ………. – 16.7
    1.2 ………… 1512 ………… 1525 ………. + 0.8
    1.3 ………… 1492 ………… 1517 ………. + 1.6
    1.4 ………… 1418 ………… 1438 ………. + 1.4
    1.5 ………… 1423 ………… 1425 ………. + 0.1
    2.0 ………… 1167 ………… 1263 ………. + 8.2
    2.1 ………….. 129. …………. 124 ……….. – 4.0
    3.0 ……….. Failed ……….. Failed

I hope this is useful.. PLEASE add your comments and experiences as I am NOT an expert at this.

Mac OS X 10.6.3 lists 120 extension and 10.6.4 lists 122 extensions. The following extensions were added… GL_ARB_depth_buffer_float and GL_ARB_instanced_arrays.
