I’ve been using the beta, it’s pretty impressive. Can’t wait to get the GM build in stores.

    • Kyle S

Has your beta version been disabled since this is now on sale? I haven’t been home yet to check mine.

      • Kloc

Beta was still working before I upgraded it and it’ll shoulnd’t expire until October from what I’ve heard.

  • Kloc

Just installed the Academic version that you can get from being in school. Same as Professional but for only $79.95. Can’t beat that! I’ve been using the beta and it’s awesome!

    Home Use program FTW! $10

    Anyone else dislike ribbons?

    • Steve Jobs

Ribbons are the worst thing in the world. There’s a reason I’m still on 2003.

      • Dominic

Oh, so having tool bars floating all over the place, like the file menu, is clearly the best solution :P

  • phone_booger

bro it took me forever to get used to Office 2007, now this? I wonder if it’s similar.

    • Rob

I certainly hope not. 2007 was a disaster. I do hear much better things about 2010 though. Looking forward to the upgrade.

      • Jeff

I think Office 2007 was a major improvement over 2003. The ribbons took awhile to get used to but I would never want to go back now. Some people just can’t handle change well.

I totally agree. When I first tried office 07 I hated it and never wanted to use it. A bit later I bought it for my new Windows 7 machine and, after a few hours of work on it, I love it! Take a while to get used to, but you should expect that from a huge improvement like 03-07.

This is so exciting!!! I love office. I’m so glad BGR is so on the ball with this news. THANKS!!!

  • Jarrett

I can’t wait till Apple comes out with their own version of an Office program. I don’t trust Microsoft. Their to closed minded.

    • sirpaul

You’re an idiot. Office is very well made, you’re the close-minded one!

    • John Galt

Office is great…Word would even grammar check your use of “their” to “they’re.”

    • John Galt

and “to” to “too” while we’re at it. Jesus. You’re a wreck.

Thank you for this post featuring the exciting launch of Office 2010. As mentioned, you can download a free, 60-day trial of the software if you want to test out some of the new features before buying the software: http://office.microsoft.com/en-us/try/try-office-2010-FX101868838.aspx?WT.mc_id=MiG_Products.

Also, I recommend you all check out the Office Facebook, Twitter, and LinkedIn pages to enter to win a free copy of Office 2010. Several copies are being given away so don’t miss out!

    Cheers,

If you use Office at work, check to see if you can get a copy of Office 2010 using the Microsoft Home Use Program (HUP).

I was able to get Office Professional Plus, everything, for $9.95 as a download.

License is good while you work for the same company, and lets you use Office at home.

    • Wow

      Thanks
This is what I’m talking about. 9.95 download. No more office torrent for me lol

  • phone_booger

brb, going to ‘noid to DL muahahahahah

  • Fred

I want the Home and Business version. I don’t qualify for a Home Use license. Is the Home and Business for 1 or up to 3 computers.

I’ve used the beta and love it. I cannot see myself going backwards to Outlook 2007.

But I need to upgrade 3 computers. There was a value pack for Windows 7, is there one for Home and Business?
