Best Buy to take iPhone 4 pre-orders tomorrow

If you’re keen on getting the iPhone 4, and are the type of person who likes to get things done in person instead of online or over the phone, you might want to mosey on over to your local Best Buy tomorrow, as the big box retailer has announced it will be taking orders for the Apple smartphone starting…well, tomorrow. Unlike many pre-orders from Best Buy, no deposit is required to have an iPhone held in your name. Best Buy Mobile stand-alones will also be taking pre-orders.

      FYI..Best Buy does charge a $50 deposit for the Iphone 4. Whats great is they will schedule an appointment with you and have their mobile experts make sure you know how to use the device prior to leaving the store. Not to mention for $7.99 will install an Invisishield which is $20.99 for the shield.

    What I find strange is this, these places are retailers that sell the iPhone and they are going to take pre-orders for items that they sell. Wonders, may they never be fleeing.

      Actually It’s the other way around. No deposit is required, because if you do not show up to pick up your iphone, they can easily sell it :)

    since ATT works wonderful for me, been a customer since 2002, i’m estatic to upgrade my aging iphone 3G!

    ATT by far the best network talk/surf same time.. NO dropped calls ever! :P speeds are fast…

    sorry guys, I wish I could be a hater also, but that would be obviously ridiculous.

      I’m glad you are having a great experience with them. I unfortunately can not say the same. Whether it be dropped calls, missed calls/texts, no connection to data with full bars of 3G, or the high price for lack of product I just can’t go back, ever.

      Damn… you are the 1st person ever to say that… No Dropped Calls – Ha – I get a dropped call every 3/4 calls… If it wasnt for work paying for ATT – and forcing us to use this piece of CRAP… then I would have a google phone just like my wife… The Droid Incredible is… um… Incredible!!!

    RadioShack is doing the same. I was in the store yesterday and saw signs for pre-ordering opening on the 15th. I’m not sure if they’ll just ‘take your name’ and then process on the 18th or what …but this news about BB makes it seem a real possibility the date has been moved a bit.

      Radioshack isn’t really pre-ordering anything. From what I have been told, they are only handing customers a Radioshack gift card worth your pre-order amount, so that when it comes out on June 24th, you can use it towards your purchase. In other words, you’re fucked with Radioshack.

        Probably true. I hope Eric Schmidt sent Jobs a fruit basket for allowing Eric to sit in on all those board meetings since 2006 discussing the iphone, appletv, acquistions, itunes. And somehow, the student,Google, has been able to leap frog the master, Apple, in mobile OS. Jobs has to be fuming for being suckered.

        So yes, thank you Apple. Now we have products that are much superior to your girly man iphone. The iFad is next!

Until I started reading this crap I was oblivious to Android fanboys, and since I have a NexusOne and an iPhone all was good. But more and more, thanks to the Android Fanboys here I am hating the o/s and their fans more and more. I guess, ironically and in a way, I now understand how they feel about Apple fanboys.

    I for one am just really excited about the screen. How did they let Droid have the top screen for the past 7 months?
    oh and wallpapers, even though most applers said they never wanted them.

    To clarify the BBY system you give them $50 for deposit, they give you a gift card for the same amount on the spot, then you can use that gift card for your purchase or anything else you want.

    I was thinking about getting mine from Best.buy instead of Apple because of the “black-tie” program that covers things like accidental damage (that Apple care doesn’t cover). So that way if I drop it and something cracks or whatever Best buy will replace it. I think this is the route I will take.

    Oh Im sure it will sell… The people who have had old 3G’s and such will be first in line to upgrade…

    The issue is that the I4 now has competition… Last year when the 3GS was introduced, all it had for competition on the Android side was the G1…

    Oh what a difference a year makes…

    Imagine where Android will be NEXT June when I5 comes out…LOL

      You can keep them. I’d rather stick with the relilability and solid engineering and design of the iPhone. It doesn’t have all the features, but what it does have it has a lot better than anything your android phones have to offer.

    BestBuy does require a $50 deposit. They hand you a gift card. BestBuy doesn’t pre-order anything for you. Your name goes on a waiting list. I was #3 on the list for a 32GB phone. As of 6-26 they only got 2 of the 32GB models. They tell me they have no idea when another shipment of phones are coming. I wait in wonder….when? The other bad news is, there is no refund on the $50 gift card, should one decide to buy directly from Apple or any other reseller. BestBuyer beware!! BestBuy is doing the same scheme for the Droid-X – Good luck with that….
