Motorola's Droid 2 gets outed

Well look what we have here. It’s the Motorola Droid 2 live (sorta) and in the flesh, and looking more or less identical to the original Droid save for its updated keypad (thank heavens!) and more rounded edges. The specs, as Droid Life understands it, include an updated keypad, 3.7″ display, 5 megapixel camera, Wi-Fi tethering, 8GB internal memory, pre-installed 8GB microSD card, updated version of MOTOBLUR (ninjaBLUR?) and a 750MHz OMAP 3 processor. HDMI out and a front-facing camera won’t be included with the Droid 2. Sadly the Droid 2 was seen running Eclair instead of Froyo, but if it’s any consolation — and we’re not sure it is– the Droid 2 has a newer, less intrusive version of MOTOBLUR (ninjaBLUR?) Wanna see more of the Droid 2? Then hit up the jump to check out a couple of pics and a video of the boot up screen, then head on over to Droid Life for more.

Call me a DROID FANBOY if you want but serious IMO this is the worse thing Moto can do. The device is not bad but its too much like the original. Nobody will buy the second verison because the original version is just as good. HDMI output..big deal…may as well wait for Xtreme to come out or something. I am very disappointed on whoever decided to try to revamp the Droid in the middle of its hay day. Bad business move. Not to mention thousands of customers who “supposedly” have a problem with Droid, are going to want Droid 2 for no reason. Tech support/ Customer service nightmare.

Oh they will buy the second version haha, the keyboard updates and the OS upgrade will be enough to get many people to buy it. And even though it looks about the same, there have been many subtle modifications from the first droid.

That’s original droid-life.com info right there…they’ve been leaking info left and right on the xtreme and droid 2 and were the first to say the 2 were completely different phones.
