Sprint erred in EVO 4G sales figure comparison, still sold out

Yesterday, Sprint confessed that it may have overestimated the opening weekend sales figures for the hottest new phone available to the general public; the HTC EVO 4G. Sprint explains: “We originally reported that the total number of HTC EVO 4G devices sold on launch day was three times the number of Samsung Instinct and Palm Pre devices sold over their first three days on the market combined.” Sprint then went onto say, “we inadvertently erred in the comparison.” The metaphor misnomer has led BTIG analyst, Walter Piecyk, to lower his EVO 4G weekend sales estimate from 300,000 units to around 150,000 units. Not that it matters much…the EVO is still the talk of the town, and in short supply with high demand. With the momentum the 4G handset has, we’re sure it will hit that 300,000 figure in no time at all.

I was all about buying the evo until sprint decided to tag on and extra $29.99 a month if you want to use the wifi for external devices…how bout including it in the sale of the phone and make it a done deal? Guess i will just stick to the ole reliable.

You must be a very bitter soul? I bet you have little feet and a very small peter. How does such hateful people like you wake up every morning and live?

Since Sprint is the only carrier to have rolled out 4G, then it makes sense that they have filled up the 4G Center. When analytic computers find a good place to place a particular ad, they will place an ad. I am sure Sprint is not paying BGR directly. They are most likely paying an agency to place the ad in strategic areas. Until other carriers launch 4G to consumers(only Sprint right now) and manufacturers start making 4G phones(only EVO right now), Sprint will continue to dominate in the 4G resource center. It makes perfect sense to me. Clearer now?

I’ve been checking liked on most of your comments but BGR doesn’t even make the Sprunt link visible on the right side of the main page. You have to click more categories to find Sprunt. T-Mobile, AT&T, and Verizon are all right there for your clicking pleasure. Seems they would make it easier to filter to just Sprunt stories if they were sponsored.

May I have some of that tin foil from your hat? I need to wrap my sandwich.

Yes, I am saying that they are inept enough to not know how to count, hence them reporting wrong information in the first place. This is what Author Unknown was trying to say by comparison. What’s the matter with you?

Dude, you have issues. Unless I am missing something here, I open Mozilla, type boygeniusreport.com into the address bar, and start browsing the recent articles. I don’t go into the 4G resource center. So how is it an entry point? This article may be tagged to also appear there for organizational purposes. I rarely see a Sprint ad on the home page.

What the hell are you talking about? You are boarder line Galvatron! LOL!

OK, I’ll say it for everyone else here. Your an idiot.

It’s funny how the rating system on this page isn’t in your favor for any of your comments. Means that more people than myself disagree with you as well as find you a nuisance.
