Sprint launching the Samsung Restore on June 6th

With all of the oil spilling into the gulf (thanks, BP!), the announcement that Sprint will be releasing the eco-friendly Samsung Restore on June 6th for $50 on contract couldn’t come at a better time. Made largely out of recycled materials, the Restore contains low levels of hazardous materials and will be 84% recyclable when it comes time to power it up for the last time. Of course what the Restore has in green it lacks in specs with nothing to show for itself but a 2 megapixel camera and QWERTY keypad, but specs knockout specs aren’t what this phone is about.

just started selling this, it seems really nice mulitmedia phone: great options for teens or parents that don’t want data

This will be a big phone for the 8-14 year old age group that only care about the basics.
    1. Test Messaging
    2. Social Networks
    3. Multi-Media i.e. MMS and web-browsing

As usual, in this day and age telephone calls are not in the top 3 but especially amongst the demographic that will purchase this device. No doubt it will be 79.99 or cheaper with a 2 year and within 3-5 months after full launch nationwide it will be free with a 2 year contract.

Samsung and their phones are as green as the grass growing over its dead workers – 18 and counting – 47 identified cases of ill workers. Samsung factories are called “cancer factories” – some of the workers worked there just 3 years, then 3 years later were six feet under. Two, at the age of just 23.

If you want electronics that are green for life not death, don’t buy Samsung, and instead, add your name to the petition:
