Is this the AT&T HTC Aria?

Rumor

htc-aria

While it could just as easily be a Photoshop job involving a Droid Incredible and an EVO 4G, let’s assume for a moment that what we’re looking at is the AT&T-bound HTC Aria. Shot up by one of AndroidGuy’s “pretty solid” tipsters while situated next to a business card to give us an idea of the overall size of the device, it’s said that the Aria will be the “smallest Android device” yet with a display under 3″. Other alleged specs are said to include a 5 megapixel camera, optical trackpad, microUSB port and a 3.5mm headphone jack. Of course previous rumors would see the Aria come complete with a sliding QWERTY keypad, but as we said above, let’s assume this is legit. Nothing fancy, but at least it runs Android 2.1 with Sense UI and shows more promise that AT&T’s current Android offering which consists of nothing more than the Motorola BACKFLIP. Dying to know more? Apparently it’s due for an official outing on June 7th. A poor choice of days, we know.

Well that looks like HTC Incredible…

    Meh, I think it’s fake!

Don’t you ever notice that HTC Phone Design is always the same but just in different name or different colour.

      • ItsMeBeaches

I love how u guys over-seas spell color with that u making it colour. Its especially funny cuz that’s how i used to spell it as i wasn’t born in the state, but it looks weird to me me now lol. Anyways on topic, i want an Android phone on ATT which has a nice full keyboard…i just cant get into the full touch. I want my options.

The backflip, although not ideal for everything, has a PHENOMENAL keyboard… better than any phone i’ve messed with a keyboard

AT&T needs to come hard with their Android phones. Sprint & Verizon both having 2 major Android devices(Evo, Incredible) and if AT&T doesn’t come with something at least comparable to the Incredible, poor them.

    • Rdx

Uncle steve has some say in this i am sure

Maybe not, given the rumors that the iphone is going to expand to Verizon. I’m personally hoping that AT&T chose that date to thumb their nose at Apple by releasing this matchbox and announcing (or releasing, fingers crossed) something like the Desire. Either way, AT&T really need to step up their game, I would have left them long ago if they weren’t the only carrier in my area with decent service (my work cell is on Verizon and I have to use my personal cell half the time.)

It’s not all that important to At&t since the Android OS was the knockoff response to the iPhone.

      • mezmryz03

Yeah, innovation is stupid. I’d much rather have a comfy, cozy, closed environment.

      • rexl

I know! Apple invented the touch screen and smartphone so anything similar is automatically going to be a knockoff.

That’s one word. It’s the difference between “I, Robot” the book and film and “iRobot”, makers of the Roomba

  • James

Damnit, when will AT&T get any android device even comparable to the ones that Sprint and Verizon have?

  • Gee

@ James,”Damnit, when will AT&T get any android device even comparable to the ones that Sprint and Verizon have?”

why? Evo 4g and the incredible= incredible over hyped 4g crap.
So maybe you can wait 6 months for a update. Pls, it seems that your on AT&T why would you want this fad/soon to be unsupported junk. James, why would you want to go backwords in life.

High levels of iDiotness detected in this sector,

coming from a guy who doesn’t even put a name in his reply.

Sorry that I wanted to spell type a nine letter word for my name rather than a three letter one.

      • gee

wow, you can count! your the brightest one in the matrix, or is it just in this “sector”.

        You Mad?

    • Ace Curry

Wtf are you talking about? Lol. Backwards in life for wanting what is currently a top of the line device on the second largest carrier in the nation? Gotta be the dumbest thing I have ever heard,

Just because they have the same processor and amount of ram does not mean that they are the same phone. Both have their pros and cons.

      DIFFERENCES:
Evo has 4G, a 4.3″ LCD display, a front facing camera, an HDMI output, built-in WiFi hotspot (on 2.1), 720p videorecording.

Incredible has a 3.7″ AMOLED display, 8 gigs of built in internal storage.

I have played with one of these. I knew an HTC sales rep who had a demo unit and this is a sweet little phone.

I would really like to see a decent android device on att as well. But let’s hope this one is a fake. If a phone is going to be all-touch screen input it needs to be bigger.

  • Mintpass

Who in the right mind would buy this crap over IPHone 4g.

  • NoFan

clearly photoshop work. you can see where they attempted to blend in the black on the botton of the phone

    • tyler

Yeah I see the two black splotches, but that doesn’t mean this is fake. Probably a serial number or something that they blurred out, so they wouldn’t be able to trace the photo back to whoever the phone was/is issued to.

    Screen to small…
