AT&T stores installing new "large display" for upcoming iPhone?

Exclusive

Another AT&T source of ours has just let us know about some of AT&T’s in store plans. According to them, AT&T has started to send engineers out to corporate store locations to try and plan / start setting up a “new kind of display.” We’re told that this is most likely a new iPhone display as there isn’t anything else that’s dedicated to a single device that would require the resources this display will.

It’s nothing Iphone related. It’s a POS system that allow people to pick what plans they want, phones, ect ect.
It just makes the sales process less human.

Actually, what you are referring to is a software update that was installed last week on the Experience Table touchscreens. It let’s customers shop for phones, plans, features and accessories, then save their cart so it can be pulled up on the POS.

At my store, our iPhone wall is about to be moved to be closer to this new mystery-fixture. Ours is scheduled to be installed in 2 weeks.
I know it has something to do with “higher tech data devices” … My guess is the iPad will be there, maybe along with our upcoming Android devices.

Gotta love posting from an iPhone. Anyway, what I meant to say was:

Everyone that posted about the new automation enhancements = correct.

    BGR’s over-zealous AT&T “ninjas” = wrong.

This is old news. BGR, stop taking hints from in-store reps. Everyone from area retail store managers and up have known about this for quite a while.

It’s probably a deal with AT&T and the iPad.
