I agree. This close to windows phone 7, why even bother releasing this?

Is anyone ever gonna put the D pad on the left side?

    • SOUTHERN MISS ELITE

The gaming potential would be astronomical if it was on the left side. Gamers have ALWAYS had the D pad on the left and buttons on the right!

I guess the designers are too scared to…

As long as the majority of the pop continuse to be righties…then probly not.

Why would anyone buy a WinMo6 phone knowing WinPhone7 is around the corner??

    • skyy_flyer

Same can be said for just about any OS though… why woud anyone buy a new Iphone this time of year knowing full well that within just a few months the next gen will be out? Same goes or Android. I mean, by the time even say the Evo comes out, there will be a better phone out within a few weeks. That is just how technology goes.

1st. Looks nice, although I am going to stick with my bb. Anyone going to get this? And who here likes the windows mobile platform?

  • Mitch

Ugly phone topped with a crap OS. WinMo is garbage.

No thanks, and I have the feeling the majority of people will be saying the same thing.

As a VZW employee, I’ve had the chance to play with this phone. Although it has the Snapdragon processor, Windows Mobile still doesn’t seem responsive. I don’t know if it’s a memory issue, but the phone would take its time just to go to the dialer. Also, when we saw this phone, we couldn’t help but compare it with an EnV Touch slider running Windows. Windows is definitely starting to show its age, just like Blackberry.

    WinMo 6.5.3
But notice the 3 buttons? Should be upgradeable to WP7, right?

    • Jared

no one of those buttons has to be a “back” button. they got the other 2 right though

      • Jared

wait even im wrong the three buttons have to be: back, windows button, and search

    • Andrew Munchbach

The three buttons have to be: start, back, and search. This one just seems to have: start, answer, and end.

    Hopefully it can dance w/WP7…

Just another crap LG phone….moving on….

Why are companies even putting phones out with Windows Mobile 6.5? What is the bloody point now with Windows 7 on the horizon? Just about every Windows Mobile-based device I’ve owned has been a piece of shit, with the only saving grace being the extensive modding community. Unless the phone is a powerhouse with a lot of memory and tons of factory customizations, the Windows Mobile environment is not user-friendly at all.

If this was a Windows 6.5 device that was upgradeable to Windows 7, it would be a good device to have as it would be future proof for at least the normal life of a mobile phone. As it stands, it will be obsolete before the end of the year.

Maybe because in the business world, companines have security requirements that require devices like WinMo and BB. If I want to encrypt my data at rest, an Android ain’t gonna cut it. And if one of my user’s phones break, I really can’t tell them to wait 6 months, can I?

p.s. WinMo 7 is probably not gonna have most Exchange policies out of the gate so we won’t probably deploy it anyway.

p.p.s. Though I will deploy one to me. :)

The phone looks stupid, Windows OS is garbage…

  • fz553

How come no one here is crying that the ‘Z’ key should be a little further to the right and not directly below the ‘A’ key…surprising!! lol

    • grrr

hey, we at least were able to throw in all the alphabets on the keyboard. what are you whining about!

  • SKINNI

Phone looks really good minus the 3.2 inch screen. I think 3.7″ is pretty much the standard now for touch smartphones. I like 4+” but thats just me. Im thinkn the pad is due to right handed people unfortunately. Im not sold on WinMo. Always had bad experiences with it.

BTW….. Take note of no CAPS! Im a new man! I really do hate it though LOL

  • Mik

I am going to get down ranked, but it does not matter.

I use Wm 6.5.3 and like it alot, presently using it on a LG Expo with a Snapdragon and a custom rom.

This fathom is a sister phone it seems, minus the finger print scanner and chrome bezel and a d-pad thrown in.

I kind of like it, an see this being a relief phone for many silent WM users out there.

3.2 screen is very pocketable, may not be all that the new big screens are, but its doable.

  • K B

Restive. Touch. Screen….. That is all

  • keet

I played with the phone. Same type of touchscreen as the EnV Touch. How about advancing your touchscreen technology LG? Pressing on a touchscreen is weak, ask blackberry.

  • Fiddlemania

The Expo with a snapdragon was freaking awesome, so I think windows, although boring, does great with the 1ghz processor.
