Android 2.2 being pushed out to the Nexus One?

Rumor

froyo-nexus-one

We have not been able to verify this ourselves yet, but reports have been coming in since late last night about Android 2.2 going live on the Nexus One. TechCrunch’s MG Siegler is also reporting his handset has received the update, by being greeted with the upgrade prompt while charging his handset. How is it looking out there for everyone else in Froyo land?

if ppl are concerned about having flash on your browser, you can go to “www.skyfire.com’ and download their browser for Android. their browser supports flash content!

This should be ok for now if you want flash while everyone awaits 2.2 update.
    Just a suggestion =]

Or why not manually boot the zip file downloaded and run froyo as well as download flash 10.1 on it? I did it and it’s free gin awesome!games movies, hulu is still not working but everything else is fine, about frying time, will get back to how long it lasts with the battery and how hot the battery gets

Anyone think this may be the reason the incredible was delayed? To add 2.2?

    • rumbleroast

The incredible hasn’t been delayed. Its shipping now, but demand is far greater than supply due to a supply chain problem with the Samsung AMOLED screens.

Great…….now i’ll be checking my Nexus constantly for any sign of an update, and it WON’T be there because im anticipating it too much.

And for those people saying its coming to the Incredible, Its not, for now at least. Remember HTC has to add their Sense UI to the Incredible.

Its time for me to rid of my ‘oversized’ iPad.

What I can’t understand is if Google planned to push FroYo out today why they gave out a HTC Evo 4 at GoogleIO

Stock T-Mo version N1 here, purchased on launch day, no update yet. Damn my technophilic impatience! >.<

  • McHale

Nothing here yet on my AT&T version.

    Loving the speed increase

Just so everyone knows, the current release of 2.2 for the N1 isn’t compatible with AT&T models. Package verification fails every time.

  • tmogeek

Easy install. No root access required. I got the info from lifehacker.com.

  • jaythe01

    • mustafa

i got a unlocked N1 using an at&t sim card, works fine

A quick google search will give you the link for the zip file you need to update yourself. Flash is installed from the market.

Got tired of waiting. Downloaded manual update. HOLY COW the speed!! Flash is smooth, slow on EDGE but what can you do. The screen is more sensitive too. If you haven’t done this you are really missing out!!

Call me crazy but I like to wait for the OTA for some reason. I bought a G1 on launch day so I have seen every Android OTA that has been sent out & I always wait my turn in line instead of jumping the line. So I will sit & wait for my Tmobile N1, purchased on launch day, to recieve its update OTA….

    @Shrlckhlms

ALL NEXUS ONES ARE SOLD UNLOCKED

  • the truth

2.2, nothing yet on my usa version.. but hey it works fine without it haha

  • the truth

sooooo.. were is the how to link?? in case we do not wish to wait for the update??

  • Sean

I believe that the T-Mobile flavor of N1 says “Android Version”, and the ATT flavor says “Firmware Version”. I have the ATT version and my friend has the T-Mobile version, and we can confirm this.

I don’t know why the heck they did this, but whatever.
