T-Mobile officially announces new BlackBerry colors for the summer

T-Mobile just officially announced what we’ve all heard for a pretty long while — they’re going to be adding some summer colors to their BlackBerry lineup starting today. First up is the BlackBerry Curve 8520 in Fuchsia Red. It hits T-Mobile’s retail stores and online today and will retail for $49.99 with a two year service agreement. In terms of the big boy toys, T-Mobile is rolling that luxurious-looking BlackBerry Bold 9700 in “Flash White”. That device will start to become available on May 26th for the same price as the current 9700, $129.99 with a two year agreement. Lastly, T-Mobile’s BlackBerry 9700 OS upgrade that just became available will be pre-loaded on the new Casper Bolds out of the box. We’re not complaining.

    There was a time when I waited with baited breath to hear about new RIM or Blackberry news. Sorry but a color palette change on their current line up is not what I consider newsworthy. Unfortunately, I think RIM is going the way of Palm if they’re not careful. Where’s the innovation? Where’s the excitement? It seems like they’re playing catch up with today’s technology and platforms. Blackberry 6? Really? *sigh*

      Completely agree. And not lack of innovation, but poor quality controls. Let’s all take a look at the Tour with massive trackball defects. I think RIM is sliding downhill pretty quickly at this point. I guess if they can’t make a phone that works, they can at least make them in different colors.

    I want a Blackberry but can not use becuase the keys are too small. I got big sexy hands and it just doesn’t work well for me. I guess I will have to get the HTC HD or Evo!
