The electronics industry is going ga-ga over 3D. By the end of 2010, we will have 3D in our televisions, 3D in our portable gaming devices, and — if Sharp has its way — 3D in our mobile phones. By way of press release, Sharp unveiled the world’s first HD-quality, 3D camera module targeted towards mobile devices, digital cameras, mobile phones, and smartphones. The module will utilize two separate cameras to take 3D images at 720P resolution, and multiple levels of software processing, to combine the left and right camera input into a single 3D image. The camera module is expected to start shipping in July with mass production slated for late 2010.Read

Usually I’d say things like this in a mobile device is pointless. However, the more I think about it mobile devices are becoming more and more a part of our daily lives. I think this is pretty neat, as long as it can take quality photos! It’s great not carrying multiple devices around. Here’s to technology! (keep it affordable, guys!)

Yea so i really wanna have to use 3d glasses just to look at my phone…POINTLESS POINTLESS POINTLESS…and yes i know they might do it like the 3DS where u dont need the glasses (its called sarcasm ppl,) and again, a total waste of time and money.

You must never have seen good quality 3D photos before. Go to Flickr or Photo Bucket put some good quality 3D gaming glasses on and check out the great work thousands of people are making out there. 2D and 3D are like paintings and sculpture. What if Michaelangelo had just painted a picture of David? That was not the format He wanted o use. His “3D” rendition gave David all the power and depth to make an everlasting impression for generations to come. Yes I would put on a pair of glasses just to see my passed family members as I really saw them. (I have TWO eyes so I saw them in 3D) Of course the big movie studios will put out a ton of crap just to make money off a trend but if some like Cameron continue we will have some very nice movies in the future. Not all video productions or photos should be 3D….it is after all an artistic statement that should be carefully crafted for the admirers to feel the proper emotional impact.

Anyone who underestimates the power of mobile will regret it just like those who scoffed at the idea of computers being in every home or video marketing becoming such a huge success!
