Apple is mum on the actual figures, but sales of the iPad apparently are continuing at a staggering pace, as the first production run of international iPad sold out in a mere two days. According to Apple’s international pre-order pages, current international pre-orders will now ship on June 7th, a full ten days after the initial May 28th launch date. Early adopters can gloat breathe a sigh of relief as initial pre-orders should still arrive on May 28th. International customers late to the pre-order party take note: if you have not already pre-ordered your iPad, and must have it on the launch date, mark May 27-28th on your calendar…and prepare yourself for an overnight camping trip at your local Apple Store.Read

Thank god I live in America.

God had nothing to do with you living in America.

      • whoareu

        maybe your god it didn’t.

I just threw up in my mouth a little.

mirrors aren’t your best friend huh? its ok, the Ipad has an app for that. its called Youicorn. it’ll brighten even the ugliest of people’s days!

Anyone who didn’t pre-order the first day doesn’t deserve it on May 28th anyway.

      Agreed.

went into best buy today. they had four demo units. my ipad feelings have not changed after spending 5 minutes with it. Homescreen is limited as it is only in landscape mode, is there a setting for that? A couple of web pages took over a minute to open fully, (my friend standing next to me watched, he has an iphone and was equally unimpressed) and where were the business apps everyone keeps talking about? Wouldn’t they at least have them loaded so you could check them out. I don’t see this as a game changer at all. Last game changers from apple were the iphone and ipod. This seemed like a big waste of time and money. Sorry for the hate

I demoed one at Best Buy as well.. I felt the same way for the 10 minutes I spent with it: “Bleh”

I was especially disgusted that less than 1/2 of my favorite websites loaded blue blocks instead of content.

I too was in Best Buy in Charlotte, NC and they also had 4 units. These things are H E A V Y. My Kndle 2 is much lighter and goes for 2 weeks on a charge.

You need to hit the gym or something if you think 1.5lbs is heavy.

        @Patrick Moto Droid
I’m having a hard time believing you even used one. Home screen only in landscape. All you have to do is “rotate it”.

    • Cold Dead Fingers

Allow me to explain. The “orientation lock” was on, so you could not rotate. But, to us problem solving folk, we would do something like physically look around the device. Maybe there’s some notch I need to toggle (hello!). Second, it was probably running on 3G in which case, ya it’ll take a while, but just know AT&T has the fastest 3G, right now. Best buy can do whatever they want, to showcase them. Obviously, they didn’t want to buy the Apps to show off because they think the iPads will essentially sell themselves. You can’t blame Apple for best buy’s greed. Finally, the iPad finally merges smartphone and computer, you really need to own one to know what it’s like. Most stores offer some kind of satisfaction period, so no harm is done, besides a $5 restocking fee, if that.

Learn to communicate problem solver. Your statement that “You could not rotate” is misleading. I am not handicapped and have no problems physically rotating an iPad. In addition, I asked in my post if there was a setting to affect this. Thank you for your timely answer. Also, I’d like to state all four iPads were connected via WiFi per the icon in the upper left corner of the screen, not 3G.. C’mon man, with Best Buy being so cheap, why would they pay for 3G service and not Business Apps to Demo? In response to the last part of your statement, I wouldn’t wanna live with syphilis just to know what it is like, same goes for the iPad.
It;s like they say, :First Impressions last a lifetime”.

I have bought cars for less than this.

Rip off. But then, that’s CrApple for ya.

    • Billum

I’m sure it was a really great car! Best of luck to you…

Good think I pre-ordered mine from the Apple Canada online store at 5:30am on the 10th.

iPad WiFi + 3G 64GB for me. Added a Rogers microSIM which I’ll use for the first few weeks until I get a microSIM adapter, and then I’ll cut my current Rogers SIM card to use in my iPad.

    Can’t wait until the 28th!

  • patrick

@Scott. I did rotate it. 360° did not budge. Some apps did the same thing on it. Engaget for example. After launching the apps the apps was in portrait mode only and when closed the homescreen went back to landscape. Weather channel same thing. And lousy audio quality when I played back Paul Blart Mall Cop. And it is a shame that the screen doesn’t fill the whole body. Felt solid though.

Although I did save a shortcut to androidcentral.com to one of the homescreens. Oddly enough that was one of the pages that took ages to open. My friend with the iPhone said ” no wonder, look what you are trying to open!”
