HTC EVO 4G up for pre-order later this month

It seems as though this image was sent to every blog on the internet, so we thought…why not throw our watermark on it too? It looks like the HTC EVO 4G — exclusively available from Sprint — will be available for pre-order later this month from everyone’s favorite electronics vendor…The Shack? At its CTIA launch the EVO was scheduled for a “summer” release and, judging by this latest tidbit of information, it would appear as though that timeline is still good. What do you think? Will anyone be pre-ordering an EVO from The Shack, or will you be holding out to get yours directly from Sprint?

    im Assistant manager at Radioshacvk in charleston WV. soory boys bset buy wont have it till at least 60 days after we get are pre orders and are exclusive release talked to my sprint rep he said this is sprints reward to the shack for selling record amoutns of sprint contracts over the last few years so we will get it first sorry best buy fans

      Is this a joke? There is no “Radio Shack.” Only “The Shack” But the average consumer wouldn’t know that because The Shack is too cheap/broke to change their signs. Also, why isn’t The Shack selling the Pre and Pixi if they move handsets so well? I don’t even work for Best Buy but having been in both stores its easy to see in the amount of foot traffic Best Buy will outsell The Shack ten fold on its worst day. Sorry your Sprint rep lied to you, but Best Buy will have the phone on release day, cause The Shack aint shit.

        Sorry to burst your bubble TONY but both radio shack “The Shack” and best buy sell the the prixi and pre not sure where you get your info from but here on the west coast I’ve seen them in almost all stores, and on another note there is no way that you are going to have pre orders and not release them on the intended date preachaman87 that’s the whole intended purpose of it to get it before anyone else does so your comment preachaman87 does not make sense I would talk to your sprint rep and advise him to stop lying to you as it is against our policy to as I am a sprint employee all I can say at this point is everyone is getting the phone at the same time no sooner no later , well later if we run out but if you pre order you should not have this problem, HAVE A NICE DAY EVERYONE!!!!

    reason being also cause we blew the htc heros and moments out the door like nothing around the nation sorry but no third party dealer does wireless like Radioshack

      Again, no one gives a shit about The Shack. And now you’re trying to trash talk Wal-Mart too. I guess it doesn’t matter they have 2 or 3 times more stores than “The Shack”, and again probably see a 100 if not 1000 times more foot traffic on a store to store basis than “The Shack”

      How can you move so many handsets and sell so well, you carry what, 5 or 6 models? Wow, what a selection!

    I love that people who dont even work for a company run their mouths like they know something … it doesnt matter about opinions. it matters about FACT. and the FACT is that RadioShack IS getting its first dibs on pre-orders and phone store stock. whether you agree with it or not “tony” …its whats happening … Deal with it. Here, do yourself a favor. if your SO sure best buy will be carrying the phone on launch day and doing pre orders PLEASE go to a local best buy, Record your ENTIRE adventure out of your mothers house, standing in the non-exsistant line waiting, and go in and ask for the evo, and be sure to zoom in on the employees faces when they laugh you out of the store…

      Poor Pete. You’re seriously misguided. Please stop referring to The Shack as Radio Shack. I know they cant afford to change their signs, but you’re doing them a serious injustice.

      My opinions are based on real experiences I had while working for Radio Shack. There will be no adventure from my Mothers house, another fact and opinion you seem to have mixed up. I’m sure ill have mine before 98% of the people here since I will be buying it before the store opens for the day.

      I’ll let you keep your own idea of recording Best Buy employees.

      The facts are the facts, and that is Sprint doesn’t give a flying fuck about a multi-carrier shithole like The Shack, and they will never have anything exclusively.

    This phone will be released for $199 on a 2year. Also read that Sprint is going to offer a $100 rebate if you buy the EVO and port your number from another carrier. Sprint is also offering a 30day no questions asked money back guarantee. Everything I can gather says June 6th for a release.

    Really Sprint has given consumers EVERY reason to switch, and no reason to not at least try Sprint if you are someone like me who will be sans contract at release.

    I love everything about this phone! The huge screen. You can caprture video and play it back at 720P over an HDMI output. Front facing camera for video calls, 8Meg camera is the best you can get on a cell phone (the Incredible has an 8meg also), love the kickstand, has an FM tuner, 1 gig processor, over a gig of internal memory.

    It’s basically a phone, a dvd player, a camcorder, a camera, a dsl modem, and an FM radio all rolled into one device.

    “Tony” First off, maybe you should calm down a bit. Second I worked for Sprint up to about a few weeks ago (left for better pay not that it matters), and they do in fact make more money off third-party companies selling their phones. They pay a much higher commission to Actual sprint reps, and they make their money buy selling the volume at a third party who doesn’t pay much (if any commission). As a Sprint Rep for 2 years, Radio Shack (or “The Shack”) Sell a lot of phones as a whole across the number of stores. It was quite frustrating to be a rep and have a cust come in that you’d been working on for a week and see they’d already bought the phone at a cheaper price at “The Shack” I’m in St. Louis so it all still says Radioshack here…. Also Sprint has MANY times had devices that can ONLY be bought at Best Buy and Radioshack….so it’s not a far fetched report. Of course, like yourself I will most likely be waiting to buy it at either Sprint or Best buy (due to the idea I don’t like being the first for a new device because they almost ALWAYs have some bugs to work out in the first shipment.) Plus Best buy will have it cheaper (als with reward points. So I agree in getting it from Best Buy (albeit, not before it’s scheduled release), but your enthusiasm to Rag-on “The Shack” sounds a little over-the-top…..

    I have a quick question, If i pre-order this phone for a new line on my sprint account.. with all of the phones i’ve owned with sprint.. I just add it to my bill.. If i pre-order it.. can I do the same.. I just like the ability to do so.. if not no biggie.. will be pre-ordering it NO MATTER WHAT!!

    I finally have to admit that Sprint is kiling AT&T right now. I have been a AT&T drone for about 10 years now and I can no longer justify paying their higher prices. I will be getting the HTC EVO and giving up my beloved iPhone. :)
