Upcoming iPhone to record video at 720p HD?

Depends… 720p @ 15 fps or lower = I’ll never use it.

I’d rather bust out my Canon HV40 then record a choppy clip that I’ll never want to watch.

iPhans don’t realize they are just renting their phones from Apple. You don’t really own the phone since Steve controls the user experience and dictates what you can and cannot install on it. I guess he was so bitter losing to Microsoft in the late 90′s he figured he would play the same games.

Apple makes MS look like amateurs when it comes to dirty tactics and monopolistic overtures. I am glad to see the government is finally taking notice.

But to be fair, even if the EVO did announce it we all know it had no affect on Apple’s development cycle. Good for them if they actually come out with something like this. Too bad it will have Apple’s fingerprints and heavy handed business practices wrapped all around it. Do you really think Apple will give you a nice feature like this without associating a revenue stream to it? If you do then all I can say is…

I’m starting to wonder if the fandroids post in any android article , cause they sure are rampant in every apple posting. They even go out of the way to read and click reply just to say “don’t care” along with the constant trash talking. I don’t go into android post because I really don’t care and doesn’t warrant a reply. makes me think they’re insecure about their device. Lol, while the fanbois duke it out with one another, I’ll just sit back and say that I’m not surprised that the iPhone 4 will record 720p as it’s likely got it’s roots in Samsung’s Hummingbird S5PC110 processor, which has 720p support.

There is room for everyone…..I’m a webs fan….

There appear to be a lot of very weird people out there who can’t write (or speak, I assume) but have lots of time to make ridiculous, obnoxious comments on these articles. Would it be possible to place these weirdo’s comments into a separate area where we can choose to ignore them, allowing the rest of us to actually comment on and discuss these articles.

It is becoming very difficult to weed these bozos out so we can actually read the real comments. Maybe put the comments into “Pros” and “Cons” columns? Otherwise I don’t think I will bother with “after the break” anymore as it is becoming a real waste of time.

And I agree with the posts that mention the fact that fandroids troll this place or any place where there’s Apple info, why the hell do they bother? Insecurities due to their inferior devices or simply out of the goodness of their hearts trying to protect Apple users from this so-called evil empire with a closed ecosystem? I don’t have the same Paternal instincts towards my phone as some. All I know is that I’m happy with my iPhone and haven’t tried an android device and they’re getting flash? He knows what best for us, and since he’s patented every single mobile phone feature ever made, he will sue every other mobile OS developer since they all blatantly COPIED and in some cases STOLE Apple’s brilliant ideas. He will bankrupt Google and Microsoft, and have Ballmer and Schmidt on their knees begging for forgiviness. I think what the fandroids don’t like about iphones is that every new feature added is made to seem like Steve Jobs thought of it. Other phones may have done it first, but now its magical cause Steve Jobs said so. Apple advertises how special such and such a feature is on the iPhone and the noobs fall for it. Kind of pisses off people who know better. I give it to Apple, they did make smartphones popular. I don’t think Android would be where it is today without the iPhone. And no one would be trying to improve the OS’s and UI’s had Apple not made it necessary. I though my iPhone 3G was the greatest thing back in ’08. But its so closed and uncustomizable (without JBing) that I have moved on to Android. I like the OS better. Have I thought of getting the new iPhone this summer? Yes, I have. But I think I’ll probably stick to Android. In reality, I want both. And a WinMo 6.5, WP7, S60, BB, WebOS ect ect device. Cause they all have a place and each has its pros and cons. There is no perfect phone (or OS) for everyone. So each to their own. I do wish Steve Jobs would quit acting like he created the SMARTPHONE. He may have improved on it and Apple may have patented many things. Things that were used by phone makers long before Apple saw $$$ and quickly patented them. Just because Apple has the patent, doesn’t mean they were the first to think it up and use it. That’s the difference the fandroids and Apple haters are trying to point out.

You lot should be ashamed of yourselves – I used to have a BB and loved it but I have now moved to the iphone because it was more what I wanted now. Every phone changes – it was not that long ago we all had Nokia’s in our pocket, then Sony E and now there are probably 3 good OS’s out there with a good selection of hardware.

It is a shame that people cannot be adult and disguss things properly with a balanced view and willingness to accept that what you use is right for you (or what you bought) and not always right for everyone else.

I am not a “fan” of anything but I currently like what I use and I for the most part have been very happy with every device I have owned over the last 10 years and yes they have been different.

What is it an Android device can do that a jailbroken iPhone can’t?

Given the size of the iPhone community and app store, lack of fragmentation and solid product with the absolute best OS in terms of useability, why do you choose an Android phone over a jailbroken iPhone?

And don’t give me the whole “You shouldn’t have to jailbreak it” weak argument. The fact is, you can, and it’s not hard to do.

Is it a pure hardware thing? Do you get hard ons over resolution and megapixels?

These same android owners that say you shouldn’t have to jailbreak your phone spend hours looking for roms to flash onto their device. it’s like republicans, democrats, Christians, and athiests they all feel it neccessary to justify their decisions by berating what they imagine to be the other side with insults.

i really don’t understand why people come here and argue about devices that they have no monetary investment in. who cares if one thing doesn’t do what another does. bottom line is you have a choice. be it what ANDOID does, APPLE does, PALM, MICROSOFT etc. EVERY platform and device has it’s strength and weaknesses and there truly is no more “innovators”. everyone steals and borrows from everyone else. truth is, no matter what companies do people will always find something to bitch about. there may never be a perfect device. coming here and arguing is immature and pointless. if you dont like what a certain company is pushing DONT CLICK ON THE LINK. so very simple. grow the fuck up people.
