Listen: We’ve been doing this for a long time and it’s incredibly hard for a single story to make us drop our jaws, but this is something special. A functional version of Android has been successfully ported over to the iPhone, complete with the ability to dual-boot. It’s still alpha quality despite most features working, but if you have a spare iPhone lying around and don’t mind putting in a little bit of work, hit up the jump to watch one of the greatest videos uploaded to YouTube and then load OS on your iPhone.

Why would anyone want Android when they can have the most beautiful, advanced OS the world has ever seen? Fucking Android, I’m calling up my lawyers. I guess I’ll have to push that true multitasking update from 2013 to 2012, that’ll show em. I can’t find my turtle neck, Jessica! Where is my fucking turtle neck?!

video too long for me to watch at work, but does the port allow you to dial out? or is it all just a proof of concept?

shows him recieving calls and SMS; he says all functions work, but does not actually make outgoing calls or SMS.

      He does demo working wifi.

exactly what the guy above me said. Why waste your time with crap like Android, expecially over a OS like Apples. Take this is a bloody wet dream for these dodo android fans out there. Hopefully the hype dies soon, because Android OS is horriable, and dosen’t belong in the same catagory as the elite like Apple, and I don’t even own a Iphone.

Finally…a good use for the iPhone. Great work on the hack. :)

It’s the new iDroid! I want one.
But seriuosly this guy is awefully smart. Someone needs to hire him. Hopefully on the droid side.

He’s the most laid back genius you’re likely to meet.

Maybe this will put some of the droid fanboys to rest. My iPhone runs my OS and theirs. Let me know when a droid or nexus one runs iPhone OS. Pretty awesome stuff.

Never mind the only reason this works is because android is open source and someone probably would get iPhone OS to run on a droid if it were open source too. I don’t want any logical replies! I’m prepared instead for being called an apple fanboy submitting to steve jobs.

I can’t wait for the iPhone 4.0 announcement, because now everyone can say “If only it ran Android.”

Android on your iPhone? There’s an app for that.

    • person

i can’t believe it took that many comments for someone to come up with that

  • Nico

I love my Android but keep my iPhone 3G for the apps not yet on Android. A phone that dual boots both OS’s would be perfect.

  • Graham

    Awesome dude! Thank you!!
