Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 tipped for launch with AT&T in late July

According to one of Engadget’s “trusted sources”, AT&T is forging ahead with plans to have the Sony Ericsson XPERIA X10 on store shelves in time for week 30 of the fiscal year. In plain English this means we could very well see Sony Ericsson’s first real attempt at releasing a smartphone in co-operation with a U.S. carrier go on sale during the last week of July/first week of August. It seems there’s a possibility that the launch could be either delayed or scrubbed all together depending on AT&T’s general mood, but for the sake of all the neglected Android aficionados on AT&T we’re hoping this isn’t the case.

Does the x10 on Rogers have to be unlocked to be used on AT&T? Sorry for the dumb question =(

They dont care about android, as long as they have the golden child that is all they will focus on. I dont care if they put out 5 or 9, I would be happy with 2 up to date phones, this with 2.1 and an htc with 2.1 updates at the same time.. rather have quality instead of quantity. Im an android fan, but its being chopped up too much. pick one or two manufactures and make some rules.

But…but…its supposed to be OPEN!!! Rules are for losers! Oh…wait…

Seriously though – I totally agree. AT&T fucked the BackFlop and are spending their time rimming Steve Jobs & Co.

Unfortunately, Joe and Jane average will buy whatever they have for sale…so there is no real motivation for change.
