BlackBerry Bold 9700 in white landing on T-Mobile May 5th

Looks like the Europeans and Southeast Asians won’t be the only ones getting in on the white BlackBerry Bold 9700 action, as the device has popped up in T-Mobile’s internal systems. Available from May 5th onwards, official pricing has not yet been disseminated down the chain of command, although we can’t imagine it will be priced any differently than its black counterpart’s $129.99. So far we’ve not heard anything about this device heading to AT&T, but we’re willing to wager it won’t want to miss out on the Second Coming of the Diddy White Bold.

Wow… Rim is so under the Water!

  • joe cool

maybe we will see the vzw bold next summer

You can’t be serious……..lol I think R.I.M is doing this on purpose……Improve the Os,and stop releasing devices with old hardware..

  • blocker

Its funny how everybody blaim rim for everything lol

    • Charles A

      1. Blaim?
      2. RIM is an acronym, not a word. Capitalize it.
      3. What the hell are you talking about?

Downrank me if you wish, but RIM is so behind the times with innovation. Releasing the same 9700 hardware in a different color nearly 6 months after the original came out shows nothing but pure failure.

“Get your shit together today or be gone tomorrow.”

I understand that BlackBerry users are a tight-knit group, but that’s the _only_ thing keeping this company in business.

women and gangstas will love it… :p

Nothing new. Same hardware same OS need really need a makeover. Hey Rim do you heard Palm is for sale?

  • Jack Tee

Is it me or does RIM seem destined for failure? Between HTC, Apple and the slew of other high tech android hardware, is anyone excited about Blackberry? That core group of loyalists is dwindling and I believe when the iPhone goes to Verizon and exchange is flawless, BB is a DD (dead duck). The browser and multimedia stuff is no better than 2005. I used to be torn btwn the reliability and messaging of BB and the enjoyment of iPhone. No more. Bring on the EVO, the Incredible and the rest of the great stuff, sorry but a white BB just isn’t as captivating.

  • Akulamenuri

This is why im leaving T-Mobile this summer. Sprint gets the EVO, Verizon gets the Incredible, At&t is getting the new Iphone, and all T-Mobile has managed to do is launch a phone with a soon to be dated OS that came out months ago overseas (HD2) and give us a color change on this bullshit. This is why you are in 4th place.

So the NexusOne is not a good phone in your opinion? T-Mobile maintains (at least for the time being) its position as a value and internationally friendly GSM-based carrier. If you are willing to pay the premium for other providers, you are free to switch.

      • Akulamenuri

Nexus One is not sold by T-Mobile and existing customers like myself could not get the phone at the subsidized price. No subsidies + not being sold at T-Mobile = Not a T-Mobile phone. The best bang for the buck is actually Sprint btw.

      • T-Mobile, iheart you :)

Sprint is the best bang for the buck? because of any mobile anytime? lol yeah, because you actually talk to all 250 million wireless numbers in the nation? HELL NO! the cheapest plan is 70 bucks, and most people dont know the anymobile anytime plans charge for roaming…how else would they take your mins? and due to sprints shitty coverage you’ll be getting overages anymobile any time

    • Mooch

I agree. T-Mobile just re-releases the same old ho-hum phone, puts a new color or headphone jack on it and touts it as new. Oh, wait, it’s got more RAM which still grossly underperforms every other smartphone out there. I’d ditch TMobile in a heartbeat if it they didn’t have such great rate plans.

  • Bob

I kinda agree with that too.

The writings on the wall for Rim, and with each release of a newer HTC an others(without naming), it gets a bit bolder.

I see a mass exodus with in the, say next 1 – 1.5 years from Rim unless they act promptly now.

It it looks nice in white but ..big woop so do most things…the Xperia X10, the Nokia N86,,the Nokia N97..unfortuntely they are nowhere to be found on any US carrier…so far :)

  • James

I don’t know if you kids can’t see past your individual needs, but RIM provides quality hardware, security and email functionality for corporate users.

That is not to say that you can’t get a decent email experience with other phones, but for now the corporate mainstay is with RIM and their BlackBerry line.

This device will sell well for corporate accounts. White stands out and gives a basic BlackBerry a refreshed new look. That’s all it is.

I still prefer the Nexus One for my personal use, but for business and my security IT group we all prefer to deploy BlackBerry’s. There are millions and millions of us who agree.

  • ohmy

Blah blah blah rim this blah blah blah rim that

Same ol tired argument, no shit people…stop beating the dead horse, its dead guys :-)

Not like RIM will listen to bunch of blog phone geeks like us. :-/

Phone looks hot in white though!

  • T-Mobile, iheart you :)

In my hnest opinion, Blackberry is for the business savvy who arent hyped by a million applications that make fart noises, or a chuck norris sound board. if you are a true business professional how odd would it be to pull out childish marketed android phones? blackberry syns the easiest to most servers, and with a push emailing system it saves your battery. Having your android device always search and pull your messages kill your battery…seriously how many android users and iphone users have a shitty battery life? 9 out of 10 guarantee it

    • Lorri

I agree one million percent. I’ve had TONS of phones and while I initially enjoy the apps on Android, I am an ADULT. NO, phone (iPhone included) has the e-maili capabilities like a Blackberry!!! With myTouch, I couldn’t even set up my work e-mail (teacher) OR my school e-mail (I’m a doctoral student). What’s the sense in having a phone that has fun apps, but can’t retrieve e-mails?!?!?

Wow, an instance of two basement dwellers wanting to be me at the same time

  • http://facebook.com/michael.pittman Akshon

    15?
my sister came over Thursday with this phone.

  • A Smith

Kinda reminds me of Motorola and their Razr. Black red pink titanium….. We all know how that turned out. I have had 4 BBs and have loyaly waited for a device that used 2010 technology. Please. RIM , come out with a new device before its to late.

  • Jaybomb

BB rockes, nothing is going to kill the BB, not the iPhone, not a HTC ( which are mostly P.O.S’s) they have there purpose. Like “T-Mobile, iheart you :) ” stated “f you are a true business professional how odd would it be to pull out childish marketed android phones?” yyou would quite frankly look like an ass !!!!

I spoke to a TM rep. and he said it’s true that the white is coming out on May 26th. My white 8520 is arriving Tuesday, so I’m sending that baby and pre-ordering the white bold. I was worried about the dark themes I wanted, but I don’t care anymore. The white is calling!

I’m just a lowly graduate student, but ever since I received the Pearl in 2008, I’ve been hooked on BBs. I don’t care how expensive it gets, I ain’t letting ‘em go. Out of all the phones I’ve owned since 2007, only the BB has survived, and still does. This pink pearl has gone through a lot of crap with me. I’m no good with electronics (which I why I don’t own an iPod anymore, after the 3rd attempt) but these devices are tough and pretty.
